Question

Looking for on line retailer selling balsa and other

materials that takes Paypal? Anyone have a reliable source? I tried Balsa USA, But no take Paypal. I have funds in there that I'm wanting to use. I also tried Graves RC Hobbies, but they don't have everything I need for a short kit I'm building. I'm trying to get all from one source to minimize shipping cost.

Thanks for the tip Earl, but they have less of the materials of what I need than Balsa USA & Graves. I was kind of looking for a one stop shop like Graves usually is, but they have had quite a few builders come in and cleaned them out on quite a bit of the balsa and basswoods.

I tried Tower Hobbies, but they sell by bulk not piece. I'm not a big time builder so all I need is enough to finish a plane not to build a fleet. I'm looking for a on line vendor who sells by the stick or by the sheet and that als carries, wing bolks, blind nuts, music wire ect............ Kind of like Walmart for hobbyist. A ONE STOP SHOP.

OK, I think there must be a communication gap here

I can find the Balsa I need at Balsa USA and other bits and pieces from Tower Hobbies, Graves, Lonestar, ect.........

My question is, Isn't there an on line vendor that stocks MOST IF NOT ALL THE BITS AND PIECES NEEDED TO BUILD A MODEL be it from a kit or scratch.

My thing here is, by the time you order balsa from Balsa USA, that's $10.00 shipping, then brass tubing, various sizes of wire from Graves along with blind nuts bolts ect........another $10.00 in shipping cost. Then there's the covering, depending on the covering you want to use, it will most likely have to be ordered from some place else like Tower Hobbies or?? Another $10.00-$12.00 shipping cost. So by the time it's all done, you have $30.00-$35.00 just in shipping cost. I could have spent 2/3rds of that shipping money on additional supplies. What I have seen is most online vendors offer bulk sales ONLY. At least Grave RC will sell by the stick if they have it.

I don't know, maybe I'm pissin in the wind here

Isn't there a couple of hobby shops in Orlando or there bouts? Gas would be a lot cheaper than shipping and you can pick and choose. Spend the PayPal on something else.

I don't think they do this anymore. It was the function of the Paypal toolbar and it's gone. I used it to order pizza once and the guy asked to see the card. I tried to explain and looked at me like I was nuts.

Try Stevens Aero, all Bill's kits are balsa (as opposed to foam, a 4-letter word he likes to say).

Plus regular RC airplane parts.

If you don't see what you need on the site I suggest you call.

Ditto, I have had mine for over five years now. Works like the typical ATM/debit card, even use it to pay my eBay fees and get 1.5% cashback... . You can apply right on your account overview page.
