A long to-do list in the workshop...


I haven't made a blog entry in a few months, sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been very busy for me personally, and by the time I have free time in the evenings, I'm too tired to go to the workshop to get anything done. I have 15 airplanes and three helicopters, many of which are in need of repairs. I'm thinking of taking a day or two off work to just park my butt in the workshop and get things done. Here's my laundry list of what needs to be done, in no particular order -
  1. Left motor on E-Flite P-38 is loose
  2. Finish installing retracts in E-Flite Airliner (jet fly-in coming soon! Hurry!) **SOLD PLANE 7/1/10**
  3. Replace gears in torque tube on T-Rex 500
  4. Install 35A ESC in Blade 400
  5. Install E-Flite metal head on Blade 400 and set the head up again from scratch
  6. Tighten belt on Blade 400
  7. Minor repairs to scale fuse and re-mount on Blade 400
  8. Install arming switch on 10s biplane
  9. Install new motor and repair front end of Parkzone T-28
  10. Repair ding in LE of right wing on Kyosho T-33
  11. Swap out flight pack for my Big Boy

I swear there's a few more things that need to be done but that's all I can think of now. Need a fire lit under me and get the work done.

i would do all of the foam related stuff first so make a big mess,i always found when i have a list like yours i stick with one type of fix like all heli then all electronics and so on.

I actually got some work done yesterday. I replaced all the gears in my T-Rex 500 and I oiled up the bearings while I was in there. It's back together, except for the tail, which I hope to finish tonight.

Got two repairs out of the way. Finished the T-Rex 500 and flew it today, no problems. Also repaired my T-28 and flew that today as well. The new motor has breathed new life into my poor old, battered, epoxied T-28!

Got a lot done last night... repaired the motor mounts on the P-38 (glued both of them while I was at it), and started rebuilding the head on my Blade 400.

The head on the Blade 400 is complete. The swash has been leveled and both the blades and flybar paddles have been zeroed out. Now I have to install the updates to the Co-Pilot II, install the new 35A ESC, and re-mount the scale fuselage.

New ESC installed and programmed. Co-Pilot II has been updated to the latest firmware on both helis. Have to tighten the belt a bit on the Blade 400 and re-mount the fuse and it's ready for a test flight.

Scratched the "retracts in the airliner" item as I sold that plane Thursday... realized I just wasn't going to get to it, and the plane did not fill the void that was left by my F-4 Phantom II (see previous blog entry).

Finished the Blade 400, and it flies again! That metal head sure makes a difference!

Finally repaired the wing of my T-33 and flew it this weekend. Whew, all done with this list but time to create a new one!
