Very very cool, flashted!

In my experiences with canards, I have found that the CG is usually further forward on the wing than on a traditional setup. I use this canard cg calculator as a ballpark starting point:

Looking forward to your progress!

Looking good flashted! I noticed hobbypartz has similar item:

I learned about canard from this thread quite bit:

Good luck with your Shinden 2000.

My Shinden is waiting for servoless retract for the main. Power to 400W motor, too. Hopefully retestflight next week.

Shinden 2000

OK here it is.
I tend to make things complicated as per the full flying canard.

looks nice! Reinforced vertical fin is a great idea, too. Any progress?

I installed the tricycle retract on my Shinden too, still waiting for HK to restock one of the backordered items and ship out my motor... been waiting for almost a month. oh well...

Airhogs Tritan RC electric conversion -floatplane.

Hi All,
Here is my Tritan floatplane conversion. I am new to building planes, but I hope you have a good laugh, cause that's why I did it cheers

Enjoyed the video. I couldn't tell which one of you were having the most fun!

FWIW... a little wider stance on the floats would make it less "tippy", if that's becomes an issue.

Hey guys,

Anyone bashing over the winter? I saved an AH glider for those cold winter nights and may try building the "B" model of the airliner. Still have the 66mm e-flight edf's, servoless retracts, etc.from the "A' model. I think I'll mount them on the fuse this time, aka, MD-80/DC-9. I also have a complete tail section from a balsa trainer I recovered from the trash can at the field. Might work.

This plane could be the "garage sale" special !

tried several times landing with retractable tricycle gear for my Shinden, all failed, easy repair, even with nose retract severed wire. So back to fixed gear for my Shinden, hopefully she lands better. Might increase canard area first. She is not a good floater in landing with added weight. Cheer on for all airhog conversions!

Finding and ...

At the moment the Air Hogs gliders are not easy to find, but this may change in a week or two for Xmas. I have been kicking around the idea of making wood jigs/fixtures/frames to build over using the popular Fan Fold Foam (FFF) sold in Hardware and lumber warehouses as a stack of 1/4" in 2'x4' sheets (50 per bundle average). Way cheaper than Dollar Tree foam board sold as poster board with a thin foam core between paper skins. Either foam can be heat formed to any shape normally desired for RC airplanes and very lightweight. You can also make a simple plywood box and use a heat lamp to warm everything up to around 190 degrees F to temper/stiffen the foam a bit. This would make it possible to make a slightly larger Titan style glider and open a lot of options for modifications.

The idea is nothing new since all sorts of scale and non-scale foam flyers have been built this way for a lot of years, once the foam was commonly available. The catch is most of the lumber and hardware employees have no idea what FFF is, or where it is in the store. It is sold as floor insulation, and is often not near the thicker foam sheets of the 4'x8' size. I tend to find the FFF near the hot water tanks and plastic wrap insulation. If the bundles have been on the floor for a while and taken some damage, the store manager will often give me a break on the normal $40 a bundle price. Hard to beat that deal, which sort of explains why I have four bundles. Way too much foam for the average builder, so I am going to have to get inventive and make half a dozen copies with slight variations on the theme. This thread, with a focus on bashing and RC conversions, fits right in with the idea of going through a lot of foam by making many slightly different copies of the same plane.

I'm thinking about starting my Model "B" version of the airliner. The " A" model was lacking in many ways. This time, I'm going to mount the 66mm eflight edf's on the top of the wing.

If Honda can make it work, so can I- LOL

Have all the other parts left over. After all, it's all about bashing, right?
