RCgroups Member selling knockoff Helitek-RC Products
I've just been informed that a certain forum member has being selling "Supershafts" via pm to people on the forums. These aren't Helitek-RC Supershafts.
I don't care if someone wants to sell their own extended shafts, but using the name "Supershaft" for them associates them with Helitek-RC. I'd like to make the record clear that these are not our shafts and we were unaware that he was selling them using our product name until a few hours ago. Helitek will not sell you any products via PM on the forum. If someone contacts you asking if you'd like to buy an extended inner shaft for your helicopter and that it is a "Supershaft" please report them to the forum administration. After all there is a for sale section of the forum and this forum isn't meant to be used as a platform to spam people trying to get them to buy things. |

Hey Tony, I certainlly hope you are not talking about the "Wondershaft" I sell on my website for the Big outdoor lama. I asked Ernie if he wanted to make them and he declined and told me to do it. He thought it was a good ideal. So, at least, this one is not on me. Lee

Lee, I'm going to give you some advice about "Intellectual Property Rights" and selling things through a PM system that doesn't belong to you. Do you have a web site?
Heli-Tech has been selling their Super Shaft for some time now. By calling your "invention" a Super Shaft, it infringes upon Heli-Tech's "Intellectual Property Rights". You should change the name of your shaft product. Call it something else. Re: the PM's.... This site has given you a means of private communication with another user about a subject at hand. But, PM's were not designed to be abused by selling your products through the use of them. BTW, these forums are for discussing helicopters. Not for describing in graphic detail that you have rectal bleeding.... or that you're going to "end it all". That's way too much information. I hope you'll take this as a friendly warning. I mean, I have no authority here... but this stuff will eventually get to someone who does have the authority to sanction you. Nuff' said.... Buzz |

Thanks Buzz. Thanks Tony. Thanks everyone. I have seen the err of my ways. Happy Flying.
P.S. for the record. I do not sell anything that competes with helitec-rc. My shafts are for the Big Lama. They are called wondershafts. The owner of helitec agreed with me that it was a good product, name, and idea. He declined to make them for me. Told me to do it. And they are only sold on my website. I have not sold one through PM's. Thanks again Tony. |

Ok so what's the story then?
Lee says that his product is called the "Wondershaft". Tony says the name of the shaft Lee's selling is the "Supershaft". So has Tony made a false accusation or is Lee not giving us the entire truth. Why would Tony start a thread accusing someone of selling a shaft marketed as a "Supershaft" when the seller (Lee) states it's a "Wondershaft"? Is anyone else not making sense of this? Jim |

Um, Buzz, the concept of an extended shaft is not patentable any more than a longer nail is, and I gravely doubt anyone has filed documentation on the name 'supershaft'. If they have, it's more likely a male enhancement product.
Even if there were patents or trademarks involved, it still falls upon the registered owner to sanction abusers, and the (un)registered owner said "naw, go ahead". So the 'intellectual property' sermon was uncalled for. But thanks anyway. I'd ask where "rectal bleeding" enters the discussion, but I really don't want to know. TMI, but a reason to be glad I turn this thing off while I'm eating. |

As far as things go, Helitek was the first one to coin the phrase supershaft in relation to an extended shaft. While it is impossible to patent an extended shaft due to prior art, trademark law is a bit different. Even if we haven't filed for a trademark on it, we can at any time. We can also appeal anyone filing a trademark to use the name in this circumstance, since we're the first company to sell Lama V4 Extended shafts using the name "Supershaft" and we can prove it. |
