we did a little taxi test today

it is a short one as my dog,Lettie, did not allowed it longer.
and i would have been in serious throuble if it had left the ground.
Tomorrow Jonas will lead it to the sky.

It's funny that Lettie chased the model and not the bird...

Well, it looks like it flies okay. Remember, your nacelle isn't a snap fit

Claus's package with the Slingjet arrived a few weeks ago, but I've been very busy with moving, work and family and I've only been able to drool over it occasionally for a while. No longer! Work started tonight as I managed to get an evening in the house to myself. What a great looking model, and it should be a very quick build!

I have a few motor plans in mind - first is Velocity-RC's new 60mm combo, or a 4600kv motor paired with the WM400. This is an 1100W bundle of awesomeness! I'm hoping to make this my fastest jet, pushing well past the 200km/h of my Mirage.

I may also tack on the WM400 MK2 with a Cool 42 as well - being a pod mount, changing motors and fans should be a breeze, making this a great test rig!

Thanks again Claus!

how is gluing going at the moment?

I look forward to see it becomes a plane.

I have a fuselage, glued and glassed on the inside. I have to do some sanding, filling and glassing on the outside. The wings have been sanded down, I'll get them glassed up soon. It should be a quick build, I just haven't been home! I'll get some photos up soon.

Here's the fuselage all together. The inside has been glassed, sides glued together and sanding has been started. Since the photo I've added some light PolyFilla to some spots - I managed to make some gouges in the nose with my sanding bar, and the seam where the fuselage went together needed a bit of filling too. Some glassing is next, then a bit of plywood for the wing and V-tail mounts.

UPS... to much power After some trimming of the super sling jet Jonas pushed the throttle a bit, and this is what happened.

after having looked at the video several times, I found that that down wind turn made the nylon screw go through the top layer of glass and then rip of the the bottom reinforcement layer.and then the strength of the wing was away.
a tiny piece of plywood would have prevented it, just an inch in diameter under the head of the screw.

super slingjet II

I can not live without a sling jet to be a test bed.
this time I cut it with the towers only 250 mm( 10 inch) apart. much faster and cleaner cutting.
I have made guide holes in the table, so no big deal to change the distance be-twin the towers. one only have to remember to make the G - code for the new distance.
It is all done this afternoon.
the only re-use will be the elevator.
