Build Log

from slingjet to super slingjet, and now with FPV wings

I did have a kit that i have designed, and decided to do a new model out of it
5 or 6 cells do need more space that the slingjet had.
the first test model lasted two flights. Radio failure in the last leg of landing.
take off weight was 1.5 kg ... but thrust on 5 S was static near to 2 kg.
5 minutes of flight only drained 1480mAh from the batteries.
I am rendering the movie at the moment..

Beautiful work! What foam are you using and what weight glass do you use for your builds? I've been looking through your work and all of it is absolutely superb. Can't wait to see this thing fly! Your new fuse looks much cleaner than your last.

if you want to see some raw performance take a look here:
sunday flying of the Super Slingjet (2 min 31 sec)

i think jweber will give you the feeling of how it was in the air.

Indeed I will.....

The Super SlingJet is just as stable in flight as the original. Can't tell if it has made a diffenrence with the lower body..... still need some more experince with this one.
Regarding power..... "IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS".....
On first flight I started with full throttle..... went directly into a vertical climb. Half way into the climb I throttled down to 50% and it still went straight up. Did a couple of laps on full throttle and came down to landing after about 2 min. of flight.
On second flight I decided to do some "slow speed to full-throttle vertical climbs".... no problem here. Came in really slow.... pulled the elevator and when it was at about 70-80 degree nose up and almost stalled out I put the throttle to its max..... it just climbed away gaining more and more speed.

More flights and video will come.... so stay tuned.

Hi there

I had the pleasure of seeing the flights live and man that was awsome, never seen a plane going vertical like this. Ton of power and plenty of speed, a winer for sure.

the last flight of the old super slingjet.

this is just to show how little ground was needed to get airborne with no help at all.
but the fuselage itself did survive without damage.
a new will be build without twin booms.
