This is a very low spot compared to where we usually fly it is only about 20-30' on the front and you can see in the video that the backside is no more than 6' deep. The wind speed at the time was less than 10mph, I was flying a brand new Beevo covered in 10mil NS and Ultracote and it barely stayed up on the frontside.

Great videos, seeing so many small sites working I am feeling optimistic.

I had another go yesterday, different model and better conditions, managed several good circuits. New design on the way and old sites being reconsidered. I will be fitting a hook and taking a catapult for the tree-line sites.

The secret of DS is to fly with as much lead as possible, it helps to keep up the speed, and then find the right flypath for the slope. (Low over the top and low at the botton)

Even in the vid: Alula Mini DS, with allmost no wind i have 25 gram on the back of the glider.

And in: Dynamic soaring, Frederikshavn, and Gliders paradise, I have 500 gram lead inside the 1,5 meter X model Blade, it gives the punch to go upwind.

In Denmark there is no mountains, so we have to go for mini to medium Ds
But less is much better than nothing
This video is from a 150 feet very flat frontside slope, and dangerous backside.

Dynamic soaring, Frederikshavn. DK. (2 min 18 sec)

And most likely the best DS place in DK
250 feet steep coast slope, only problem is sand, and a lot of tourist+ me , that all will stand at the most dangerous place, just where the glider pass the hill top.
After the last pass, i am more careful with the fly path.

RC. Gliders paradise . Dynamic soaring. (2 min 25 sec)

Wow! SpeedsterDen some really bold flying into the unknown, the dune worked great, that site with trees looked very rough, thanks for more inspiration, potential sites now spring to mind.

Wery small Ds site,
That site looks like it works very well for that wind speed. The biggest problem that I have experienced with small sites is air wrapping around and coming from the sides. This makes the shear very inconsistent and the groove becomes very hard to maintain. I am on a quest for a spot with a long stretch of shear as opposed to the pockets that I have found so far.

Hitting the spilling air head on, the air sneaking around the sides, helps a bit with control authority by maintaing some of your air speed in that head wind as opposed to getting spanked by a rough tail wind but . . . there no substitute for what you seek. . . a nice long clear shear line. A saddle in a big long ridge seems to be the best at keeping the dark side clean since there's no where for the air to spill into the back.

My new mini DS site.

Testing a new mini DS site with the Alula, tricky but fun.
No slope at the frontside, so there is no resting place
You have to keep the water boiling... or land

Yeah, that was some good stuff.
I took a couple of pics on Saturday when I went back to Red Rocks, our big frontside, very small backside DS spot.
First is a pic of me launching my Escape on the front.
Second is pic of the backside where you can get a bit of DS in. No I did not put the Escape back there but the Bee did ok. Huge power if you've got the guts to keep it knee high. Wind peaked at about 12mph.
