Would the position of the sliders make them inaccessible if you use a transmitter tray?

My 11x arrived today. I spent the last hour playing with it, and swapping it back and forth in my hands with the 9303. I'm in serious like. Lots of nice features and a serious cool factor.

It's VERY different in feel, but all good at this early point. My big pork chop hands can reach the sliders -- I'll be using flight modes and really only need to touch one slider to work airbrakes in-out on my scale ships. Sure, I would be happy with them in the same location as the 9303, but I'm good with the new one.

I laid in a supply of 12 channel receivers so my Duo Discus, Ventus and upcoming projects will all live on this radio.

Ken,

Anything is possible for a guy as creative as you are. But I would have to say that it was not the intent of the case designer for this radio to by used with a tray. The next time we meet you can check it out for yourself with my 11x.

I received my 11x today. Looks much better in the flesh than it does no the photos!

I have read through the manual, and was wondering if anyone has managed to program more than 30 models into their 11x. Does the list "grow" beyond 30, or do you have to copy/delete models off the transmitter to make the extra ones work?

Spotterone,
The 11X Tx has 30 model memory capacity. You could however load un-used models to an SD card and archive them on a PC. Not a Big Deal, I seldom take more than 30 models out for an afternoon of flying....... LJ

Firmware

Larry, what is the actual procedure to upgrade the firmware. A new version and instructions are up on Horizon's site, but no one seems to be able to get it to work. They are discussing that in another thread.

Receiver choices

On the topic of receivers, I assume the 11X will bind to the 12-channel RXs?

Yes. If you go to Horizon's website the full instruction manual with specs is available for download.

The instructions are correct except for one thing. Rename the file

JRVERUP.JRD

Also I saved my primary models to the SD Card today and the files are only 10k each, thats a lot of flippin models on even the smallest SD Card

What is making you lean towards the 11X from your 12X.

Does any one know what this update involves. If it is the Vtail elevator trim fix, I have that. LJ

Larry,

JD told me that is what it is and why I loaded it before even adding any models. My 2m is a Vtail.

Yes, of course. I can't figure out why it is not working for me. I did have a problem finding an SD card that worked for read/write. Out of 6 cards I tried, only a Lexar brand worked. But, no luck upgrading thus far. I am beginning to wonder if the SD card reader in my 11x is defective.
