After seeing Jim put the Blade 400 into some 3d maneuvers, I went home and setup the idle up. I was doing aileron rolls and loops this evening

Jim, my throttle curve is -100 - 85 - 100 as suggested in the manual. Is that what you're using?

I knew once you set up idle up you'd be doing rolls!

My throttle curve is 85% straight across. I like to keep the headspeed down a bit.

I've passed by the intersection a bunch of times and never realized there was an open area back there. Looks like a very convenient place to fly for the intown folks. Let me know when you plan a weekend meet and I'll bring my heli's.

I crashed the Blade 400 HARD yesterday. Rolled inverted and was too high almost above me and lost orientation. I thought I rolled back but before I knew it she was heading towards the ground fast upside-down. Like the newb I am I spastically threw full opposite collective and it reversed directions but this time was flying horizontal (must have added some cyclic in there too!) It hit the grass pretty hard. Trashed the landing gear, main blades, feathering shaft, main shaft, main gear, and the flybar. Luckily I had most of the parts on hand. Gotta go this weekend and get the landing gear, blades, and main gear and she should be good to go.

You should have seen it though, pretty funny from the viewpoint of an observer

I probably wont be able to get out of work till about 5:15 but have plane RTF and batts charged...

Roy, I was stuck in atlanta traffic >

I did not pull up to the field till exactly 6m, and flew a bit. So sorry I missed you!

I put a 14x7 prop on the ultimate today (last outing was a 13x6.5 prop) and had a ball. Performance improvement is very impressive with just "propping up".

I used the leveled grassy area just off the road for taking off and landing as I did not have a spotter to watch for cars and pedestrians on the street.

Unfortunately, at the end of the second pack I thought I had a spot on landing but one of the wheels broke off and the main landing gear dug into the ground for an ugly but not damaging nose over. The wheel was surely damaged when I put it into the fence.

I noticed that two of the spokes were broken before I flew but figured the plane is so light that it would hold up for a few flights until I got a replacement; I was wrong...

Anyway, sorry I missed ya; i am going to pm my cell # to you.
Do the same and we will get together this weekend.
