DFC-2 looks like is't a short timer. Earth movers have moved in. A friend stopped by earlier in the week and was told to go away. Time to take a good look at Google Earth. Actually the best site I've seen is the soccer fields at GA Perimeter College off 316 in Lawrenceville. I bet they would frown on it being used for a runway but the turf is like a rug.

Come out a bit further to my place at 316 & Collins Hill. There are only two real concerns - one is that it's an "unimproved runway", so it's a bit rough on the gear. The other is it's close to 316, so don't do anything stupid.

Actually there's a third - it's close to the airport, and can be under a long downwind leg if they're landing to the east, so you'll want to keep it under 400 feet.

I occasionally fly small stuff in Peachtree Hills Park; but it is not a good site for after work or weekends. It can get crowded as many take the leashes off their dogs.

During work hours, its pretty nice.

Hey Tony, I really have taken to liking this field here:

I've flown there at least 4 times now and never been bothered. Nice plane to land planes or helis. You do get some planes overhead due to the proximity of the airport but nothing near as low as I'm flying.
