Has anybody made an X250 with steerable nose gear?
Just curious if anyone has made the X250 with a steerable nose gear? I see lots of guys make them tail draggers but have not seen one with a Steerable nose wheel.
Thanks Joe |

You could probably use the hardware in the Herr Cherokee kit for this purpose- it's nice and light. Sam |

Just to be clear for those who don't have an X250 - if you set the CG and rear gear per instructions, the model almost tips on it's tail when not under power. This means the nose is very light on the ground, and makes it easy to steer with rudder alone (along with blasts of air from the prop)..

I connected a stiff wire from the rudder servo down and under the battery between the wing and fuse. I then reworked the front wheel wire to receive this wire at 90 degrees. I built a wooden bearing support to enable the wheel to turn and connected the wires with heat shrink. Now when I turn the rudder the nose wheel steers. I hope that didn't sound too confusing.
