TJ70 -- 70mm EDF shroud upgrade

Tamjets.com recently released another great addition to their lineup of fans, the TJ70. Currently only the shroud is available, so you'll have to provide your own rotor and motor. I'll be using an E-flite 3600kv 28mm motor with the rotor and collet out of an E-flite DF15 unit.

Tam currently offers 2 varieties of the shroud, one for 28mm motors (E-flite, etc.) and the other for 29mm motors (Neu, etc.). Keep an eye open for my more detailed review here on RCGroups.

Thats a too cool design! Looks as the motor is cinched at the rear of the mount/sink with grub screws rather than end mounting, leaving the motor openings unobstructed. I hope a conductive paste is supplied and provisions for a tail cone are in order for the price I hear the shroud kit is a buck and a half

No paste, but Im just using some stuff I had left over from my last CPU upgrade

The lip from the DF15 unit seems to fit (might need a bit of sanding), but I've not yet tried the tailcone. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

If you gotta have a CF rotor for it, I think the DS31 would work for you .... it's just not all that affordable IMO. And who knows, maybe one day Tam will hook us up with a CF rotor
