These 10T pinions are indeed a pain. Maybe Gary W will start selling parts too!

NCP Hobbies sells them for $0.55....not bad!

I don't think that the gear you referenced is for a 1/8 inch shaft. A 10 tooth 48 pitch pinion is about as small as you can get on a 1/8 inch shaft and your source has pinions down to 7 tooth on the same ad and is for slot cars.

I bought some 10 tooth pinions directly from Leisure Electronics. I forget the price, but it wasn't much. I don't have their address at hand but I remember I found it easily by doing an internet search.

Try <a href=http://www.rc-aero.com/biz/mec/ target=blank>Model Electronics Corp.</a> for the 10 tooth gear.

Dave,

You're probably right about the shaft size. The pinion would likely need to be drilled out to fit a 1/8" shaft.

The real gear is a (LE-Gear10) from Leisure. The 10t Pinion Gear was about $2.50 but they raised it several months ago. Kirk had raised his price to around $4.

If all else fails, Kirk would give you the number for Leisure. I didn't find a link.

Here is the MEC link:
http://www.modelelectronicscorp.com/

They don't list the 10T pinion seperately so you'll have to call.
