Well I have departed civilization. You can tell by how bad the coffee is at JFK airport. No chance again for decent coffee in the USA until I get to LA. Gary's brew was the best I had in the west. Well worth trading a cigar for.

I hope to see one of the F-20s do it's thing if Gary gets his complete. Pity the e-tracts aren't ready for it yet.

Wondering if A/S aftermarket composite wings for the 90mm HET might be an idea for a later project ???

There's been no reply regarding the retracts since mid Dec. Time to start perusing the e-tracts thread.

The EDF mounting rails are in. I revised the elevator servos a bit. I'll post those pics when I get the servos mounted. I need to get some EZ links, but I'm with a car for two days, while it gets a new headliner installed.
.........

I cut out the nose gear door in preperation to install the gear mounts and formers.
Careful cutting of the gear opening resulted in a nice "working" gear door. I'll add some framing later.
I laid J's wood in there for fit and function until I make the last of the wood parts for mine. (Rodger I'm saving the orginals you made me for future reference)

I sent Gary a "sort of" travel plan to see if it works in at all. We don't get to the west coast for another week or so. Hopefully I can see we of the big toys in action.

Here's the elevator servo mounts with the servos (temporarily placed).
Position will be adjusted during bonding of the mounts.

The EDF mounting rails are bonded in place and tie into the servo mounts. (more pics with fan housing re installed later)

Rodger,
Any comments, before I bond them in place?

I cut the slots in the duct flanges to clear the gussets. I glued my duct together and trimmed the flanges. (as you know).

My elevator control rods are 7.5" long (cut length). they are trimmed, DUBRO. 2-56 Steel Kwik-link with 12" rod with the metal clevisis removed, and ball links installed at the threaded, elevator end

The Elevator servo mounts and servo's are now in place, and the elevators and linkages are installed.

Here's shot of one the (preliminary) assy drawings from the layout.

Rodger,

I'd like to see if I can get her flying in two weeks. No time to paint it. I'll do it after the first few flights.

Can you provide me with:
  • The neutral position for the elevator. (the leading edge, with respect to the fuse parting line would be a good reference point)
  • Aileron throws (Hi/low rate...or just high rate if thats what your using)
  • Mid Flap angle
  • Full flap angle
  • Rudder throw
  • CG position
thx

EDIT:
I just remembered, your gone for a couple days. No prob. After you get back is fine.
Thanks for shipping those parts. I'll work on them and the nose gear.
