[QUOTE=ua3xds;19442465]Well I see I lose quite some fun because of the time difference. So here is all in one:

The wing fix is going to get ripped out on the first hard landing. I do not know how elequin flies but in my case that fix would be totally unacceptable. I hope he’ll tell us how long that method lasts.QUOTE]

How have you mounted the wings so they don't get ripped out on rough landings, please some photos if possible TIA.

[QUOTE=rocketscience;19442506]can't wait to try this at dusk..
was a bit of a pain to wire up. The solder just kept sliding off. Some flux paste worked wonders. And telephone wire. And more oracal to cover the lights and make it a little more aerodynamic..

That looks great, what is the AUW?

Ozair: Ripped out and got out is not the same. My ones are magnet mount. All types of wings fix on the first page are GET out types.
Time will tell.

What's your recommendation?
Having seen that vid before and mentioned to much water and trees.
The video looks quite stable to me. I don't think it needs a gyro.
Unless it already has one?

ua3xds, can you give us some details of your setup using magnets.

It is exactly the way described here:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...1#post14820166

UPD: Knowing what I do now received Czech version of SS I would immediately cut the ears with nuts off and arrange the same type of fix (or a rubber way or Velcro). On the strait surface it would be even easier. The main thought is: the hack with that sticking out piece with the nut it can be glued back OK or the bolt that would snap (it is plastic, right?) it would be replaced but when you think of an arm 60 CM long what comes into my mind is that in a ‘lucky’ landing it would rip a piece of a fuse easy. No, thanks!

You gotta love some of the Google translations.

Isn't this translation from Czech just better than anything in original English?

(Describing the resulting crash when the wings folded)

"Direct confrontation with the country were unavoidable."

We've all been in that place.

Nowhere near as much as I cringed when reading: "I would immediately cut the ears with nuts off ..."

I'm not sure, but I'm not too worried about weight.. the LEDs themselves are very light. Maybe total 30 grams if that much. I used telephone wire to connect them, a few grams. And I carved out foam and tried to make the lights flush. If it can carry my gopro, the lights will be easy.

OH and I finally ripped out the ridiculous weight in the nose, so I saved more than I added on this mod for sure. All the lights and wires don't weigh as much as that cylinder.

Well we call those sticking out things 'ears' over here.
By the way the plane in the Czech review is normal Bixler not the one from the elequin’s pictures.

All I know is that I would have a bloody hard time trying to cut my ears off with nuts.

Thanks ua3xds.
If you use this magnetic attachment method how hard or easy is it to separate the wings.

Have any of you guys used this in-flight voltage logger?:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10348
Tho it's branded Hobby King, it's the same Model 'L1' logger made & sold by AEO RC, so what I'm wanting to find out would apply to either one.

I have no idea what your $$$ situation is. But, I would suggest THIS because it provides so much more info about the WHOLE SkyS power system rather than just the battery. It is a pain in the arm to type. So, pls forgive any typos.
AJ
P>S. For those of you who know what the pictures below are, you know what a challenge it is to type. I know this part of my post is OT and I will leave it at just one post. Thanks for your understanding.
