Silly me.
I encode my output to HD, though the actual quality of the captured video is not, file sizes will be bigger with true HD for sure .

Ignore the beginning where fat, ugly old me is checking the installation, cycling the controls, etc. Launch, dip down to bump the ground, then re-liftoff and a decent flight. Camera is mounted pointing 90 degrees left, and down at about a 30-degree angle. Turns out to be a pretty good angle. Bounces around as expected, got to work on my pilotage.

Two questions:

1.) How do I get this monster posted for everyone to see? (And/or, how do I trim down the video to 30 seconds of "good" scenery?)

2.) How does one put gyros on the elevator and aileron channels, to smooth out my terrible flying?

1. I downloaded VideoPad Editor for free. It does not have all the bells and whistles as the one you pay for but it does a pretty good job of editing my avi files from my # 3. Since the # 3 is not HD there is probably better software out there for that type of editing.

2. I don't have any experience concerning gyros but I have been looking at something made by REVoLectrix. It's called a Co-pilot which uses infrared for flight stabilization. A friend of mine uses one and he is amazed how it smooths out his flights.

VideoPad editor (purchased version) works great on No. 16 videos.

I suffer from "Horizontal Surface Syndrome". If there is a flat surface on my workbench, I'll put something there!
I flew my Busy Bee yesterday and it just wasn't quite right. I decided that it needed a little extra wing area/span (polyhedral). I also was in the process of swapping out a motor on one of my Quadcopters and installing the motors on a new (larger) Quad. Add to that various electronic projects and the 4 X 10 foot workbench doesn't hardly have room for the cat! I built this bench last year for when I start assembling my Zenith CH-750 (retirement project).

First, thanks to ajbaker for this thread.

I do not know, Maddmax has some issues may be???
Some of us have blogs, create threads to share ideas with the group, trying to contribute. I do think that it gives us the right to post an opinion, unlike some who make negative comments not contributing anything other than "for sale" threads.
Just check my blog and Maddmax's blog. Before anyone disrespects an RC group member, they should at least earn their right of passage.
That being said, this community is fantastic place for all to explore and learn, and we should be greatful for that.

I just deleted a fix /mod for tail assembly easy removal with pics...
I will post it on my blog and post the link on this thread.
Keep it relevant guys,
So long...

You are a good person to ask this since you have experience with both. How do VideoPad and WMM compare. I can guess your answer. But, I would like to have your hands-on personal experience feedback. Is Video Pad worth paying for (i.e. good bang for the buck?)?

For me the $50 was worth it for one very useful feature -- cropping and zooming a clip so you can make those "dot in the sky" clips usable. Yes, the zooming will result in pixelation but I would rather see a pixelated plane image than a High Definition dot. In addition, you can deshake the entire video before editing. Lastly, the transcoding of the video is fast and efficient. The final file size is smaller than the unprocessed edited video. You have to remember that Youtube converts your videos and the quality is degraded.

WMM is OK but I was always displeased with how long it takes to transcode the final video. It cannot crop and zoom, but it is free.
