OK, I got the new control horns and will put them on all surfaces, but in the meantime broke one of the clevises for an aileron. Was it ever determined which would be the best replacement clevises (clevi? ) for the Bixler for the aileron surfaces? I know in the thread there are posts about the rudder/ele...

Thanks,

Paul

You're just saying that because you're not a Cowboys fan.

So when are you going to paint you Bixer Eagles Green?

At least I can't complain about the name of your favorite.

. Ah, heck. It's Ok. A few of yousse guys understand the posts deal. I only have a problem when 1-3 guys go Off Topic for an entire page or two. Besides, I ain't a George Orwell. I am just the lowly librarian I appreciate everyone here (except one).

Me too. My priority has been new job. RC Flying has taken back seat for now.

I am interested in seeing videos of your new jumbo SS. How goes the build and is there anything to look out for in the way of modifications to the design?

FWIW, It is called an SSS (Super Sky Surfer). As for mods, you might want to read the thread about it while it is still small.. I will PM you on another subject that I uh.. uh...

Get it balanced and your maiden flight will go much easier for you.
Thanks jrjr and Scorpio9999 - I'll try unbalanced first but it turns out to be one nose washer on the wing if I need it!

As I will be putting my Bixler together for the first time and I am sure will want to open it up to rearrange frequently to fix and fiddle; I was thinking of only gluing the halves at certain areas. Kind of like stitch welding if you will. Has anyone done this before as opposed to fully gluing the two halves together? Any reason not to try this?

Thanks,

Paul

It should work out just fine. You might want to try taping the halves together, first.

You call 66 pages and almost 1000 posts small. Of course I can skip over Acorn's posts. That should save some time.

The SSS looks pretty cool. Nice and steady for multiple cameras. Almost like one of those Providians that Scott and Bop fly in Iowa. Unfortunately I really don't need another plane. I already have 3 and a couple of park flyers that I have no time to put into the air now. Having something that big would also mean a bigger vehicle to cart them all around.

I'll just focus on my little SS for now and my ZII (but that is for another thread )

On my fist EZ* I used Glue Dots every 2 inches or so and then taped the seams with clear packing tape. Easy to open up and make changes.

Lasted 4 years without a problem....until that gator ate it and I had to get a new one. Heard they taste like chicken.
