SS DX6i Question

I have an opportunity to try before I buy this transmitter. I have a manual for it, so I would be able to program it. Problem lies in what settings to program for use with a SS. I really need a complete list of what settings to start with. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I use a DX6i Tx with an Orange 610 Rx. To tell you the truth I have not really made any changes to the settings. Just create a new model for the SS and bind it to the Rx. I use 100% range, D/R and Expo. It flies just fine.

Here is my first flight with the DX6i. The plane was a little nose heavy due to other reasons but I didn't have any issues.

Aren't they all soon gunna be Transceivers - both the TX and RX - if they all go the way of our Turnigy 9X's modified with FrSky Telemetry?
I have personal issues with trusting a very complex transmitter that costs way less than $100 flying a very expensive plane. The more proven transmitters are very expensive.

Last time I looked Futaba exceeded the $1K mark and Spectrum was catching up to it. I think JR is either more expensive than Futaba or about the same. I can't afford that much.

For now the DX6i is just fine with me. Maybe a DX7i in the future unless someone wants to give me their used 8 channel Futaba or JR.

Expensive doesn't always mean better... I fly with a Devo 8 and I have achieved 4.7km range with no glitches, and that is flying with 1.2Ghz video feed and no filters, try doing that with 2.4Ghz spectrum or futaba RX, especially spectrum.

NorCal

You are correct. High price does not always mean high quality. I may decide to pick up one of those Turnigy 9X and try it.

I have been wrong in the past and have eaten my hat as a penalty.

Eagle, Honestly I have MORE faith in my Turnigy 9X (FrSky Telemetry Converted) than I ever will in my my DX6i !!
So yeah go for it and buy a 9X, I'm SURE you wont regret it.

I must say sofar I have noticed the devo RX's work great, I haven't used frsky though I know it's known to be able to do good distances reliably as well.

I believe NorCal's story is that it was sunspots that confused his Rx.

As for getting a Turnigy 9X since they are out of stock at HK I shouldn't hold my breath.

Of course I just found half a dozen on EBay from $110 to $150 which is almost double what HK wants. Most of the sellers are US based. Capitalizm at it's best.
