So my room mate crashed the crap out of my sky surfer today from toysonics.

The fuse. is hosed, as are the control arms. He broke an aileron off, and did some other minor damage to the canopy etc. The question is.

Banana hobby seems to cary replacement fuselages. They are only about 20 bucks.

If I can successfully detach the vert and horiz. stab, would that work with the parts I already have. Or am I hosed and need to buy a new plane. <He is footing the bill, but I don't want to make him pay any more than necessary.> Thanks!

Broke my Bix today, too. Spar snapped in a high g pursuit turn after a bandit (crow) but the wing stayed on and I was able to land OK. Looked (and flew) a bit funny with the one wing having about 30* dihedral!

Since I have the wings securely glued on as a result of a previous spar failure and subsequent repair and reinforcement I'm not sure if I will try to repair it again. Methinks a new airframe is in order.

A few people sell fuses, though I would make sure the one you get from someone is compatible (differences between versions). Honestly I would buy a kit if possible to have replacement parts for the next break :P.

You can try to patch it back together but without and pictures I could be making a big assumption. You may have a bigger mess than can be repaired.

Instead of just the fuse go get a complete new kit with all of the body parts. That way you know it will all go together properly. You can also make some upgrade modifications that might make it better than the old one

Don't throw anything away. You can use the tail and elevator to make a stick type plane without a fuse that will fly pretty good.

Ouch!!. Was it a stock spar or was it reinforced with a second one inserted into the stock one?

Maybe you should stop chasing those crows. Looks like he won that battle.

Is this fixeable? Which glue should I use? I have foam glue and hot glue.

I just picked up an inrunner 2835 2200kv 640w brushless motor for $14 that AJ recommends. That and an inexpensive 30A ESC will be a nice upgrade for my SS.

This is generally done for better wind penetration (and fighting off crows)

Need to cover the darn thing in Kevlar and add flares to confuse the crows.

Or just stay away from the birds and just fly in the other direction.
