HE219 build

Always thought the HE219 was a cool subject and have been thinking about doing one for several years.

Scale will be 1/11th with a wingspan a bit over 66". Going to go with retracts and hoping for a final weight between 5-6 pounds. Power setup will be two 910kv out runners using the 3 blade props off of the Parkzone ME109. Power will be between 600-650 watts.

Cheers--Stacker

Working backwards on this one. Spinners are old school, made from balsa the hard way. Nothing out there that I know and I've made similar one with good luck.

Thanks guys,
HE219 will be a scratch build.

Bit more work on cowls and motor mounts.

Kinda weird building backwards from the usual.

WLJayne,
Thanks, hope I can do it justice.

Here is several pictures of the only surviving example. They have restored the fuse and are working on the wing. Love the wicked paint on the real one.

Take care--Stacker

Nacelles are roughed out and ready for shaping.

Waiting for retracts and wheels to show up. I want to try and do the main gear intall along with the shaping as the clearences are kinda tight.

Hey Stack,

I'm subscribed! I have some photos of the cockpit layout somewhere if you'd like me to scan and post them.

Steve,
Thanks for the offer. I may have enough views with the books that I've got but if not I'll sure take you up on the offer.

Here is one more picture of the spinner design. I had to drill and tap the prop adapter for the outer spinner.

Going to have to move on to the fuse until the main gear retracts show up. I've got most of the parts cut for the fuse and will post pictures tomorrow of the rough assembly.

Take care -- Stacker
