Official Walkera CB180Z Thread with First Pics!

Looks like Banana Hobby has the first pics of the Walkera CB180Z up. Anyone that owns a CB180D, CB180Q, or Madhawk 300 knows they're extremely stable, but a bit sluggish and the tail motors fail constantly. The CB180Z looks like it corrects those issues, and it could be the perfect fixed-pitch heli. I fly my Madhawk 300 all the time, and with a little adjustment on the servo extent pot, it really handles fantastic. I'll be first in line to get the Z for sure.

It's their rebranded version, but the same exact heli. It says mid-June availability, so I'm guessing that's when XHeli and others will have it too. Looks like it has real potential - a brushless CB180D with main-motor driven tail rotor. I won't be ordering this from BH though - I'm just going to wait for XHeli to get them.

Besides, if BH says they'll have them in June, you can expect them in December!!

They don't even sell the CB180/MadHawk clones yet from BlitzRCWorks. Those were supposed to be out mid April and now it's pushed to June.

Riiiiigggghhhht.

Yeah, I don't believe anything from BH. They are the first to have photos of it though, so I'm hoping XHeli will have more photos and a video.

Shin,

John @ RCHobbyHelicopter has these UFLY's with the 3-axis Gyros for $200. That's a great deal. WowHobbies.com also is selling the 3-axis Gyro by itself for $50.

Nope still not bad. I have been an E Hirobo customer for some time and they always seem to get it right and deliver fast. Always choose the more expensive UPS or Express shipping to the U.S. though. I usually get it within a week that way. I used the regular air mail crap on one order and it took a month.

Given the fact that You can buy the heli in the U.S. for within 20.00-30.00 the same price, it might be worth it to be able to pick up a phone if there are issues. I use E Hirobo only for the the stuff I cant get here for my Copter X helis

Regarding the Banana Hobby version of the 180Z that they call the Air Hawk, I have to say that in my opinion, I like the paint scheme on the canopy of the Air Hawk better than the checkered scheme on the 180Z, plus the Air Hawk has those nice red anodized tail parts and the 180Z does'nt.
Overall, the Air Hawk version is sharper looking.

My only concern is that it seems that most of you don't care for Banana Hobby and their customer service, etc. Are they really that bad?

Go to the Vendor forum and see the hate threads for yourself or just Google "Banana Hobby bad service" and get ready for some reading fun.

You will need to decide if its worth the risk for you. I placed one order 2 years ago not knowing their issues and never recieved it.....others have had a good result, but when there are hate threads on every single hobby forum out there saying a shop is the worst ever, all with the claim of never getting what they paid for, broken items or no repsonse ever to try and return something or get refunds for damaged or goods that werent shipped, there has to be some merit to it. They have an F BBB rating with over 250 filed complaints in just the last few months.

Buy at your own risk. That cooler color scheme will look real nice on your PC....that might be as close to it as you get if you order from them

Nice to see they went brushless - kind of kills the need for the previous version 180D and 180 unless you've already modded to DD tail.
