Futaba Attack 4 AM radio - OK to use?

My son has the opportunity to buy two Futaba Attack 4ch AM radio systems pretty cheaply. One is unused, the other has been used. The question is whether the fact that it is AM will cause him problems with interference at normal flying club sites.

I know it is an older radio set, but is it safe to fly?

Thanks

Narrow band AM based R/C works just fine. More info on AM vs FM equipment: http://www.torreypinesgulls.org/Radios.htm

I would say that the real issue is whether or not the your old stuff is in good electrical condition, or if they are wide band designs. If your Attack systems are ancient (pre-1991), then check here for Gold Sticker info: http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/service-faq.html#q41
