Question, why would it have a greater drag? Normally the 3 blade is smaller then the 2 blade, with less pitch. Couldn't you also use a 3-blade folder which would present very little drag while not in use? Just wondering...

I think they mean when comparing the same blade a 3 blade size will have greater drag cause of the extra blade. Of course it would also have more thrust.

Not sure if there is a 3 blade folding prop, but that would solve the glide drag. In general they are used for more thrust needed and to gain a similar thrust of a 2 blade but in a smaller space.

Maybe if you could vary the pitch of the blades they would be more useful, but it seems the verdict is to use them:

1. For scale looks

2. If for some reason you need that thrust and don't care about other issues like drag.

They sure do look cool... I wish they were more efficient.

Ok I was easily able to push the shaft through on the Scorpion HK 3026-1210 (heli motor). There was even a notch on the other end of the shaft for the collar...and that's why I love Scorpion! And the HK version only cost $65 at Al's Hobbies vs $124 for the standard S version motor! I am so pysched!!!

This motor will mean near 3D action on the SW

Maidened, or rather attempted to maiden today. The heat wasn't so bad, but I unwisely tried to fly in too small a field. Learning/tuning the plane in such a small environment didn't work but I did learn a fiberglassed Skywalker can really take a hit and have new respect for how much EPO can flex. Now to find a better spot.

Every one is almost there.
When the Two sides of a prop are horizontal and throwing a horizontal mass wanting to be this way while you are turning a vibration will occur to the frame. If Two blades are up and down and one rotates the plane it will do the same.
A 3 bladed Prop does not exhibit this affect as much.
Disagree more.

Yes, 4 amp BEC should be fine if it's a switching type.

Make one yourself.

An old PET Coke bottle, an owen and a mold to wrap the plastic onto.

Plenty of guides available
