When done properly the SW flies out of your hand. A gentle toss is enough, no running or anything. Really useful when you are connected to your groundstation with goggles.
It does great with a subtle headwind.
There are other things to consider.
These planes fly in air just like any other yet small, light and quicker.

The air makes a density that the control, and lift surfaces flow around.
Take a look at this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Density_altitude

Many have overloaded at a high altitude in thin air upon takeoff only to find they run out of runway when taking off.

This is an example of a nice gentle launch.
Not my video (one of my favs though) but it
should give you an idea how easy it can be.

Sorry to hear about your crash. Could you take some pictures and post here? I'll buy the Gorilla glue from England, but it would be nice to see how this glue, water, foam thing works before i try it out(I hope i dont have to).

I'll get some snaps of the damaged area before and after.

Do a search of your domestic hardware suppliers and look for polyurethane glue before you import gorilla from the UK most have similar foaming characteristics.

I've done that and it seems like the most commonly used glue is what i need. 100 and 300ml for $18/$25. I didnt know that i could mix it with water, but i sure will try it later today.

I'm off buying it very soon.

Well that was part of my point.... we have wires and equipment all over the place, so making a good toss is pretty difficult.

I thought a pedal launched bungee system might make things less stressful on take off. You can start the flight with both hands on the controls and able to react to any bad orientation immediately.

It may take a while to get the photos of the repair but this is what you do.

Tape off a sqaure around the damage. Have some material like clear plastic sheeting or cut up a soda bottle and keep it handy so you can frame around the work and contain the foaming glue expansion. It will take a overnight to foam to its full capacity.
Pour in the damaged area some glue mixed with a little water (around 10 glue to 1 water) or alternatively pour in the glue and spray some water over the glue area. Then tape some of the plastic sheeting over the area to keep it formed the way you wish. finish with sanding and paint. J

Utility of the Skywalker

I dropped a GI Joe from my Skywalker. Even with the additional weight and drag, it flew well. Video edited and partially filmed by my friend Dave (CaliDave)
