You can start now, AS. Just make them a hair bigger than the Alfa's.

Do it! So there isn't any chance for retracts on this bird?

What about some fixed LG tucked up, where only half the wheel sticks out?.... That wouldn't look too bad, but it may dork up the outline of this beaut as she's flying...

drap tanks on the sabre just look at home! i did try some super skiny plastic tires in the hard points on a alfa sabre, and a tiny tire in the nose, worked ok to land on, just couldnt get it to track straight for a ROG. im not so sure youll be able to HL this one unless youve got a solid 1500W....maybe more. i wouldnt trust a pretty model like this to a HL.

Yeah, drop tanks would look best I agree. How much did they slow down your Alfa (I assume you had them but I'm not sure)? I'm curious to how much they would slow down this bird.

How about drop tanks with no wheels, but with rc car chassis skid instead, and a clear vector vane coming off the rudder (for steering)?

Yeah I have plenty of 3m Car protectant film too. Its thicker for the front end of cars, but works great for these models. I want my drops made from Carbon Fiber. So they take a licken and keep on ticken....ala 80's timex watch commercials. I think the drop tank idear is the best solution. I am still just happy with the correct intake size on an edf........F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well glen, not much at all. on the fury that went 140, i really didnt see much change after taking them off, but that wasnt qantified with accual data. the combat style tanks were pretty small. i can cheat them a tiny bit, and not hurt the looks and keep them a little more low drag. ill probably do mold details too like panel lines and gas caps...you know for that cool look! and we'll see about carbon. problem with carbon is that it does confor as well as glass does, and on a tank this size, it may be tough. but well see. we could do carbon reinforced bottom's.

Well whatever you come up with will definately be better than the fixed landing gear...yuck!

I was looking at the Alfa drop tanks for shiggles, thinking about trying those, til I remembered that an Alfa weighs 16-20 oz, not freaking 53-55 oz like this thing. Those Alfa tanks would never hold. lol

How about that real lightweight carbon they have nowadays. Its like .75 oz. sq. Ft????? And it comes in a real conforming type of weave. Might be very pricey though.

Hey I just hope we can fit large lipos in this sucker. Like 4-5000mah x2 2s 45-50c so we get a decent flight time with mach 5 speeds with our modded setups.

Pff... all you need is ~3300's. 5000's would make this thing weigh 60+ oz

looking at those ducts, you could get a 2500 4s on each side no problem. i guess time will tell when we get them in our hands
