The other MCX2 thread wasn't even in the coax forum until recently. Try to remember where to even look for that one!! If you see a thread you are interested in, even if you don't post to it but just want to linger for information, all you have to do is put in a posting that says "Subscribe" and you will automatically have that thread on your RCGroups button. At one point I asked the admin guys to give the 3 channel owners their own thread, but it never happened and it gets hard to find where you want to go without that RCGroups button.

Hey, thanks for the posting/subscribe help. I went into my profile and set up the subscribe and some other options and hopefully I won't be wandering around in a daze anymore (at least not here).

I figure this would be a good place to ask this question re: charging the mCX2 batteries.

I bought one of those parallel changing cables so i can charge 6 batteries at a time.

I was told they have to be around the same charge to do that, but how can you check the voltage on these micro batteries? I have the tester for 2S , and any battery with a balance wire, but these have nothing.

Any suggestions out there?

thanks

(going to use the Hyperion version)

Thanks for the reply.

I have that voltage checker, but I need that wire to connect it that they use in the YouTube video you linked.

Where can I get that.

Thanks

I dont know - I made it myself ...
(the part with the white plug is from HobbyKing: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=18867 )
and the side that connects to the checker I crimped on the female part of the servo connector (and covered in heat shrink)

For the white battery connector, your LHS (if you have one) should/might have several products that will work. For example..

Parkzone PKZ3052 Battery Connector/Wire
http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...rod_id=PKZ3052

E-flite EFLA614 Ext 6" (2) Universal Light
http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...rod_id=EFLA613

EFLA614 Ext 12" (2) Universal Light
http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...rod_id=EFLA614

there are 3 other (longer) versions of that as well

RC Funlab has similar ones but much cheaper
Mini Li-Po Plug Extension

(RC Funlab site is acting up right now, try later)

For the lipo checker pins you can just buy any balance connector and wire up just the 2 of the 3 leads to something like I posted above...

JST-XH 2S Balance Lead Extension
http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...od_id=TGHX1010

I'll make one later today... I have a bunch of these checkers and could use a 1S harness. By the way, you can get those lipo checkers all over eBay for under $2 with free shipping

Could I just use one of those extensions and wire that to the checker?

Is that the same as the balance leads?

You mean hard wire (solder) it?

Parkzone PKZ3052 and a 3-pin balance connector

$5

Like mentioned in the video erdnuckel2 posted, it'll only work on the checkers that specifically say 1S to "whatever".... my non-alarmed ones I bought from RC Funlab are the older 2S - 6S that can't check a 1S lipo.

EDIT:

any 0.1" (2.5mm or 2.54mm) pitch connector will do.

By the way, standard Futaba style servo connectors used in cars, planes helis etc. also fit the voltage checker pins. Some of these things even come with only two leads.

Going to order a new frame tomorrow. I already have spare motors. Is there anything obvious apart from batteries I should order like connector rods etc or some flashy bits and bob like rotors, fly bar.. that soft of stuff?
