New JR 11X is on the Horizon site

Horizon is announcing the new 11X today on the Horizon Website
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=JRP1100
This is going to be a sweet System for Soaring. I should have one at home to test as soon as I can get there 4-12. I am thinking I will meet up with Ben Clerx, Tom Watson, and Tuan to get a good overview of it as We test it. Then I will report back here. LJ

That looks like a very sweet radio. Does anyone know if they added a stick switch activated flight mode capability, as in landing mode?

Is it/does it have "Frequency Hopping" Spread Spectrum??

How many three-position switches, and where are they located?

"RF status light; Blue—RF on, Red—RF off, Green—warning" How counter-intuitive is that!

From what I know David, Yes! From what I have heard, this started as a sailplane radio form the clean sheet of paper and then was adapted for motorized aircraft and helis.

GP, since nothing else is frequency hopping with JR equpment, I doubt it.

What button will you use for a momentary button, when launching DLG?
I really like the push button on the 95(3)03!

Magee if the push button momentary launch switch is a high priority then you are better off with a 9 series aircraft Transmitter. You will have many more options for programming on the 11X, but in all honesty if you are mainly a HLG guy then you have what you need on 9303-9503 radios. With the 11X you get independant TE trimming for each flight mode, and much nicer landing menu. But if you are looking and you can go to a flight mode switch then you should check the 11X out. LJ

Direct Sequence Modulation, as on existing Spektrum and JR equipment.

Stick switch: I believe so, Larry or JD might confirm.

Momentary: Just the rocker/trim switches.

The 9303/9503 would be better for HLG if you need a momentary switch or button. Larry notes that the 11X has flight mode TE trimming, the 9303 has this also. Flight mode names are customisable in the 11.

The 9303 doesn't have independent TE trimming. You can't fine tune each surface for each mode like you can on the 12X. Sounds like you can with the 11X.

I still haven't found the need for a momentary switch for DLG so this doesn't bother me.

My mistake. To clarify, the 9303 does allow trailing edge trimming in each flight mode, but it's paired by flap and aileron. So any trimming is a function of the reference position, established independently for each surface mechanically and via subtrim. If your servo arm positions and linkages are not closely matched, you have to live with any mismatch when flight modes are engaged. Sounds like the 11 takes care of this.

Likewise on the momentary, I use a hard switch.
