Jo ... I bet that T45 (?) doesn't even need the bungee ... I have two T45's that I can belly slide on grass or road and take off - they do not need excessive power to do it ...

For most of my bungee launched models - its because of the ground condition too rough and I prefer it more than having hand launch.

After yesty demo launching it was nice to see the excitement of the possible future RC pilots, hard to find the young kids at flying fields these days.
I spent some time explaining to them the principles of EDF jet flying and the easiest way to launch it, they just loved it going berserk after each launch!

Jofro...Back a few pages I saw where you were launching your models directly from the sand...I actually did something similar with a foam Habu and without a bungee but off of grass at our local flying field...But my question is this: Don't you have a major corrosion issue with your models by launching directly off of the salty sand next to the ocean???...I've taken an SLR camera to the beach and never dropped it in the sand nor got it wet but discovered about 4 months later it had corrosion damage just from the salty air...Just wondering...

Simple answer, regular lubrication maintenance, at the worse scenario replacement of rusted moving parts does the job.
Log book keep for each model is a must, for it to last.
Too windy for flying today but spend some time to do the home work, one of my "Skipper" suffers a lot with weekly flying it off the salt water and no matter how much lube I do to it the rust keeps on winning. Just have to keep an eye on it, especially the moving parts.

Few nice action pics of the bungee release, after pull and let go catapult.

No matter what crappy field I bungee off, never had a failure during thousands of launches with dozens of various models.
