A nice model of an 1865 steam/sail vessel

A thread alerting live steamers of the RR persuasion to the Goddard elicited this interesting response, with photos. The model is run by Saito steam equipment, and was built on a Midwest Seguin hull.

Well, that's a bummer, Shaun, I did not know. You might want to give the site another chance, though. Yesterday, it was extreeeemmmmllly slow; when I tried to edit one of my postings, it took so long to put up my previous text, I thought it had swallowed it.

Fung Shuey Steam ship

Brooks and I share a common interest: steam. My son Ryan and I have enjoyed our steam boats throughout the years with many wonderful examples of steam boats from the Fung Shuey to the Delta Queen and one of particular "double our pleasure"
PRR Harrisburg tug
(great fun to combine with our PRR K4 steam locomotive in the garden).

Fung Shuey
The steam ship in 1864 was sold for a New York - New Orleans service.

A salute to the master builder of the Fung Shuey, Steve Siegel. Steve is also the builder of our Spanish American War time torpedo boat:

We will be running both the Torpedo boat and Fung Shuey at the May Regatta in St. Michaels, MD at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum event.

All our steam boats are Saito powered either traditional alcohol burner or butane fired.
