I don't think you can even use the tx that comes with micros on any of the larger bnf's.

They'll all bind and work fine until you fly further than 300 feet away, then the plane will fly off on its own.

The RTF and helicopter TX's are "Low (transmitting) Power" and therefore aren't recommended for the big planes.

Or a 9X with a DSM2 module

Well no.. the 9X with DSM2 module needs to flash its firmware to be able to fly micros (as chanel order needs to be rearranged)

but even so , taking the work of inserting the board and so , you can get a 9X with board and module for arround 100$ plus shipings (130$?)

i wonder how expensive the DX6i is new.. but mine costed 120$ second hand

What a calm day. what a wonderful flight, and when all is perfect, stuck up elv. At a certain altitude, the wind was moving, and got caught in the jet stream. KC808 looked like it was off could not see the yellow record light, and while I type this I have the footage.

When you have a bad day, nothing beats getting out there and flying the champ.

Had a great time at the gym last night but the batts ran out too early.

Note to self: Christmas is coming so go ahead and add Velcro to most of the rest of the Thunder Power 160's and pass along the MCX2's to the grandkids!

I use my Thunder Power 160mah 25C in both my Champ and MCX. For my Champ, I use wire shrink wrap with velcro attached to make a sleeve that can be slipped off and onto the battery for a battery change...very cool set-up

Where do you guys get the Thunder Power 160s? And is there a big improvement over the stock 150s? Thanks

I get mine from any of my LHS's. Big improvement?... maybe over the stock HZ but not so much over other lipos I use that cost half as much. I'd only buy them again at the premium price you pay for them if I was in a pinch.

Great idea Mike! I get the Thunder Power batts from my lhs to avoid shipping. Bill is a very knowledgable and helpful "one of us" kind of guy; he's been doing all kinds of rc for almost 40 years.

He's the "dictator' of our local flying club , owning and maintaing the 5-acre field where we fly, keeping it mowed short and the surrounding 25 acres planted in low-growing crops.

It's all grass and often quite windy so somewhat limiting in the aircraft we can fly out there; people with somewhat larger gas and electric aircraft and those who don't mind hand launching and belly landing love it. That's why I added larger wheels to my one larger aircraft - a PZ T-28.

btw is there a separate "where do you fly" thread? I did a quick search but didn't come up with one. It might be cool to see and hear about some of the interesting venues people use around the world, both indoors and out.
