I added ailerons to my old Live Wire Trainer -- one of the early Debolt series. Results were very disappointing. The model actually rolled much better with rudder only.

Just popping in here again with a bit more info - even though it's awful late in the game for your Champ.

Your particular plane is known today as a Champ Mark-I which was designed directly from the prototype in 1955 by Hal, so she's REALLY a vintage lady.

You might consider using 1/32 or 1/64 ply for your windshield. Works well. art
