What are the best micro servos?

I'm sure that this has been asked before, but I couldn't find where. I am looking for two things- the best (coreless, brushless, turbocharged, lighter than air, etc) servos, and the cheapest source for any kind of servos. any suggestions or links will be helpful.

PT,

You have either too much faith in us or too small an R/C budget to test them all for yourself.

The HS-81 micro servo and HS-55 sub-micro servo are hard to beat.

Servo City has great prices and FREE shipping.

Kind of a combination of both, actually. Thanks for the tip.

I ordered 2 HS55 submicro 'Feather' servos from servocity.com and they arrived Friday, I ordered Tuesday night! That's fast shipping! Shipping was free too. I've yet to try the servos in my LiteStik, but they look very small and light . Should work great.

Looks like we all agree on this one. You just can't beat the hs-55 servos for the money. Not quite as light as some but lots of torque and under $20. I've bought servos from servo city and they were easy, fast and cheap. Just wish they would carry more stuff and I'd order it all from them, great company to do business with.

The Cirrus 10BB's are the same servos as the GWS PicoBB's. I have both and like them.

A little cheaper than Hobby People from Balsa Products or Todd's Models... Also goflyit.com...

I have a bunch of the Cirrus CS-21 only one had a bad pot, LHS exchanged it. No complaints on the others.

Also have a bunch of the GWS/CS-10's , also very good for the money.

Just a question, not ment in any way to detract from the HiTec servos :

- Has anyone had a problem from them arising from there not having a ballbaering raced output shaft ? Or is the lack of a BB just not an issur in the micro servos ?

I don't see it as an issue on micro servos. BB's are great for high loads on larger planes where centering is an issue.

Personally I have never had a servo get sloppy in my 30 years in the hobby, but maybe I am just lucky.

Thanks Fred, Thats what a guy said in a hobby shop said. I thought he was just saying that to get me to buy what he had on the shelf.

I had the unfortunate experience of having an aileron servo crap out on me in mid-flight, and the plane was facing away from me at about 100'. All I had left was elevator and throttle, but I managed to fly it back over the trees after some fancy maneuvering and land it about fifty yards from where I was standing. I was surprised at myself for being able to get out of that one, but don't want to do it again. The servo that died was an HS-50.

Just another vote for Hitec 55's and 81's. Used them for years and have never had one fail yet. Good price too!

hey thats two votes!

my vote is for the hs-81MG.metal gears are good.buy the MG because its only $30,buying the normal hs-81($20) and a metal gear set($16)will cost $36.
