I'm one of the bigger MPX fanboys...but really? a $30 increase for denser foam and a mild redesign?

The FJ ULTRA probably won't be sold in such large numbers as the normal FJ, because for the majority of model pilots, the normal FJ is more than adequate.

flight times with the ultra power set up and a 2200 3 cell pack is around 3-4 mins only - this thing sucks the life out of the packs and they are very warm afterwards.

I've just managed to get a 3300 3 cell Turnigy pack fitted in mine and that will help with both flight times and maybe even more speed

Bit heavy now - worried about the handlaunch...

I just placed my order (backorder) at Tower Hobbies for one. Log in and search for the Funjet Ultra. They charged $109.99, and are showing it available in mid May. We'll see.

Yeah... Worry about that landing too. A heavy Funjet doesn't take kindly to being slowed down too much.

Personally, I would live with the shorter flight times...but more flight time and more punch are always better.

A Loong Max 3000mah 20C, I flew for 4 minutes and put back 1400mah but half the flight was motor off. The landing was fine it did not slow down nose high like the old one and on the first approach I shot past me because being heavier it has more momentum but the second circuit was no problem. For the maiden I got a friend to hand launch I was more worried about the torque roll than the weight because there is so much power so I used 1/2 power and it still launched ok. Just be sure to follow through getting your hand out of the way instead of throwing like you would a dart.

The alu-mount is part of the recommended drive system or can be bought seperately.

gotcha, thanks JH.

just trying to find it as a separate purchase option on the big USA seller, towerhobby, but I didn't see a link to the mount itself on the tower website.

was wondering if yamaka found an option for it?

if i buy the new ultra, i'd buy just the airframe, and i'd like the new aluminum mount, but would not want to have to buy the drive system to get it.

anybody got link to usa seller yet with alumi mount link too?

FunJet Ultra with starting problems

RCSchim presents: Schwegls Fun(ny) Jet Ultra Maiden (3 min 58 sec)

My friend ordered the old funjet + motor/esc kombo but got the new funjet ultra instead (but with old motor). We thought it wouldn't be a problem - it will not go 200km/h but will fly - but this was not exactly what we got :-)

The other problem was: totally wrong setup CoG!!!!

I flew mine with the turnigy 3300 3S pack no problem hand launching and landing

Felt quicker and the extra flight times were a bonus!

Now if you guys wanna go balls to the walls...Ive had my eye on this setup and its just crazy stupid speed. I have used this motor on my wings doing 130-140ish but not 5S!!!

Just a matter of keeping the prop small enough.

The HET 2W-23 is recommended as a cheaper motor for WeMoTec's Minifan.
