When you run Castle ESC's it isnt a problem. You can even adjust their internal BEC circuit to put out up to 7 volts ....................

and if my memory aint too far gone, Patrick said the Castle ICE can stand well more than 8.4 volts if driven from an external source. I remember my main concern was the receiver max voltage

--what are any thoughts about using this motor

http://www.highendrc.com/index_eprod...roducts_id=322

-should be able to run a couple prop sizes more pitch than a 2w30 for same amperage since its a 36mm motor?
-maybe 7x8 on 4s under 90 amps?
-biggest thing for me is 5mm shaft and solid 150mph plus
-2w30 is 2200kv - 28mm x 52mm - run 7x6 on 4s

--this motor is about same kv and size as sk3 fandrive
http://www.highendrc.com/index_eprod...roducts_id=321

-maybe go with this one on 4s and run 7x 8 or more pitch or ramp it up to 5s when needed?
-maybe more battery and prop options with this motor?

--list of motors considering

Had 2 HET 3w's which the front cap came loose on. Motors were run within recommended cell count and prop sizes. Good to hear yours are fine.

Hi Rim,

I believe you are referring to 28mm motors, he is after the 36mm.

Even though 36mm MEGA is "relatively" cheaper than 28mm MEGA for high power, he looks set on HET motors.
It should run ok.

Consider EDF foamy for flying on snow covered grounds. Remember the video of that EDF Stryker taking off from ground?

--One of the main reasons I like HET motors is because they are relatively available as well as price. I've ordered HET edf fans and motors for various aircraft

--I also would prefer a larger shaft diameter on their 28mm motors, however, I only had one bend after a severe stall recovery in windy conditions that pancaked my FJ down hard on the asphalt runway.

--What is the best website in English to review and order Mega motors of different sizes and KV?

--Gryphon

--LOL-- the Turnigy 36mm SK3 Fandrive runs "OK" -- A 36mm HET should do very well -- along with Neu, Mega, Arc --LOL
