OK, so some prop testing has been done to the Turnigy 3659 (1900kv) SK3 and then compared to MEGA 22-40-1e.

Turnigy was doing pretty good @ 150 amps but the MEGA needs to be handicapped, like maybe 5 cells ..........

(6s2650 and APC 6.5x6.5 prop on each motor)
(Same ESC, batts, prop, adapter .............. only difference is each motor)

Which servo fits and works best?
This is the setup I was going to use ..Not that fast I was told around 100-115 mph:

The HS65's and HS5065's should fit straight in the servo wells, the bigger HS85's and 5085's will need you to remove some foam.

If that's the MPX recommended motor, I thought it was good for 125mph-ish?

Anyway, the MPX servo's (nano's?) are very similar to HS65's, so on a setup for 115mph the 65's should be fine. I use the 85's, I just prefer something a bit stronger than HS65's, but use them (65's) a lot in my moulded gliders. But it also helped I had 2x HS85's in the spare's box when I built the FJU.

Well after hitting the ground at full power, the impact was so strong that it ripped the motor mount right off

I figured the shaft on my MEGA 16/30/2.5RCE for sure was bent,

We the 5mm shaft took the hit, and asked for more
Still spins true, no wobbles.

she will see flight again, but as on ultra light

moparmyway - would you say thats the best setup for the 1900kv SK3 - 6s2650 and 6.5X6.5 ?
Any idea what that motor would do with a 7X10 and 4s ?

That was just static test for data freaks like me.
Whats the best setup ???? ............. MEGA (of course)

OK, seriousely, the 6.5x6.5 prop on 6s2700 (65/130) batts would be at the top of my list to fly with if I were you, then possibly 7x8 on 5 cells.

7x10 on 4 cells should be an easy no limit throttle if the motor is any good longevity wise. I would oil the bearings and make sure to re-solder or remove the stock bullets

What's the white box in the upper left of your Eagle Tree screen shots?
Is that the results from the moment in time where mouse is located?


If it's not, then can you please zoom in further so I/we can read the averaged data over the narrow time line (maybe 0.1 second before and after where you normally place the mouse).
Right now, the averaged data includes motor off time periods and are not usable for comparison.


I have installed Eagle tree's latest software on the new computer, but did not finish it by connecting the data logger (required) for first use of software....Since it has been a bunch of weeks, I better get it done soon/tonight.

Static testing:
Do only a single 3 second static test starting with the motor at room temp.
Report data from after the first second...read any 2 of these 3 values (A, V, W)
To do another test or re-test wait till the motor is pretty close to room temp.
Be safe.

Finally had a chance to get everything assembled and run some tests.

APC 5x5 - 60a 850w
APC 5.25x4.75 - 70a 950w
APC 5.5x4.5 - 75a 1000w
Graupner 5.5x5.5 - 80a 1085w

However, these tests were on done on 4s 1600mah 35c batts. I need to re-solder the connectors on my 4s 2650mah nanotechs and do it again tomorrow.

This was for the following setup.

HET 2w-23
Hobbywing 80a ESC
4s 2650 35-70c

See my attachment. Actual data from one of my tests in order to show some other folks the effects of running various size packs.


on my graph:
See the effect of battery size change on weakest prop (RPM and Watts).....then look at the changes on the highest load prop.
