My goodness .................
For your next flight why not try an APC 7x7 Sport prop ?

You will enjoy longer flight time as well as increased top speed with an added bonus of drawing less amperage from your LiPo batts. Your motor will smile as she runs even cooler than she does now.

You would be faster than you are now !!!!

Mopar, which is a preferred prop, Pylon or sport? Given same size which would draw more current and tip a little more speed?

Livin it UP when Im goin DOWN

Not the same size: Sport comes in 6", 7", 8".... Pylon is basically 6.5". Then there are other types as Combat15 at 6.3x4" and Q40 at 7.4"...
Check the APC homepage...

Since Arctery already gave you the main scoop, I will just add that I have seen the 7x7 Sport rise above the 7x6 and 7x8 as far as speed goes with the FJU. Customize the 7x7 slightly, balance it perfectly and you have a VERY efficient and speedy 7" pitch prop !!

One thing ........... 7x7 vs 7x8
The 7x8 was marginally faster (1-2 mph) in some runs, but the power level needed for the same speed as the 7x7 was rediculous. In some of those earlier test runs, I have the 7x7 as being faster than the 7x8. Maybe the 4 different motors I used were all @ their peak efficiency with 7x7 and pushed too hard with 7x8 .................... or maybe the square 7x7 is just one butt kicking prop !!

You are limited to 6.5" pitch with the Pylon props, however, you can trim a 7" Sport down to 6.75" or 6.5" and have the 7" or 8" pitch you might be looking for and have the 6.5" diameter you might want. Just need to measure and balance with extra focus and attention to detail !!

Mopar,

You already heard my speed estimate.

I wish you the best runs ever.

What speed and rpm are you talking about with the 7x7 and 7x8APC sport?
With my setup (minipyro on 6S) the 7x7 was much slower and lacked acccelleration on the FJU.
At speed the current went way down with the 7X8APC.
When you come close to 190mph the 7x7 tip speed comes close to mach1 and loses efficiency very fast.

These have been in the 150-160 pitch speed ranges, and then you must account for the decreased diameter, its not a 7" prop anymore.

I have seen 7x8 props unload as much as 20%

Just curious to see how it plays out at much higher rpm's

Can you describe what happened? How fast were you going? Did it spiral out of control? Did you lose signal...meaning did it just go into a controlled crash?
