While "not for sale" (yet) at the Faszination Modellbau in Karlsruhe, the FunJet ULTRA will be on display at the Multiplex stand and during the outdoor air show (depending on the weather).

I'm just curious....what kind of ebay pricing do you think a thief would get if they were able to jack the FJ Ultra from the MPX stand? I'm in the US, btw, so yeah, it's just a "what if" type of question

I guess not very much, because most likely the model is not even equipped with RC gear and can easily be identified as stolen, because the production series has an orange anodized motor mount.

Thieves on fairs usually target other items, but: Crime Does Not Pay!

yeah... but what if we just want to fly it!?
We would just have to resist the temptation to brag and post videos.

So I don't see the orange anodized motor mount in the picture but that does address one question I have- will the FJ Ultra save any weight off of the heavy mount from the original? I removed mine and mounted a light outrunner to balsa after seeing your slow flying FJ.

The FunJet ULTRA in the picture does not have the orange anodized motor mount - that#s why I mentioned it. I doubt it will be lighter than the plastic mount of the "normal" FunJet.

Got it...the production ones will have the aluminum motor mount!! That's a nice improvement as it would probably work as a heat sink if the motor was in contact...which is helpful on high powered funjets.

Jurgen- sorry for the off-topic question but how many Multiplex planes do you have in your hangar at any one time? Do you have a favorite?

Ok, let's count:

Twin-Star, Pico-Jet Combat, 2 x Twin-Jet (Indoor/Outdoor), TwinStar II, 3 x FunJet (Indoor/Outdoor/FFR), EasyStar, EasyGlider Electric, MiniMag, AcroMaster 3D, Xeno

Judging by numbers, my favorite must be the FunJet.

Wow! I'm impressed. That dwarfs my collection: one each of Easystar, Merlin, Mentor, Funjet and a Twinstar II...plus a converted Fox.

"As promised" - see picture attached.

The motor cables are fixated with some glue inside the fuselage.

This is a bit "Off-Topic", but my Outdoor TJ is equipped with two Kontronik FUN400-28, 2 SMILE 40-6-12 ESC, 8 NiCd RC2000 SC (pushed & matched), "Differential Thrust" (still the same equipment as in 2001):
