That looks about right!

Doing fine here. Heavy winds but only about 2 inches of rain. Worst damage was about 50 miles south of us. We even kept our power here, quite unusual.

No RC to report again........ but it looks like many of you are still going full bore.

My dog is PERFECT in my eyes
Jim.....we did OK. A lot of rain, winds just under 40mph, a little sleet and snow. I was a little worried about you being that close to ground zero. We almost NEVER get weather out of the east, the whole system come from the east on us. All our weather comes from the west, sometimes from the south.

Barry...yanked the 4 blade head off the 500....it's a wash. If that fuse was lighter, it would have worked. Right now I'm putting it all back as a 2 blade head. It's NOT that the 4 blade head isn't good....it is. Just not in this application. I should have the 500 perfect in an hour or so.

J. W. in PA
has been on my mind recently and worrying about the SANDY
thing
SO HAPPY to read the all is OK and that the problem was close
but NOT quite there
After ALLISON in 2001 and 4foot of water in the house FLOODS
are my main concern

WELL DONE J.W. or "Wonk" (the way VIC pronounces your name) which
is just as well for me because
me too : don't know how WNUK should be pronounced RICK

I got the MD500E restored to 2 blade. It's so vibration free, it astounds me. Matter of fact, the stock 450 pro is also totally vibration free as well. I cant believe I nailed it this good. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while I guess. I do think I'm gonna have to "extend" the rudder push rod on the MD500 by about 1/4", but that's another day or maybe tomorrow.

In a fiberglass fuse if you have a vibration, it acts like a drum (amplification) and you can REALLY hear it because it sounds like a growl or something. It will be louder than the motor. Mine is about all you can hear is motor/gears/blades, and it's glass smooth. Now I'm just waiting on batteries and a good low wind day.

Gonna buy a new main gear set for a 450, I got enough GOOD parts in the bin to build still another 450 pro. Nothing wrong with having 3 flyable 450's I guess.

Hahahaha.............yes Sir.............spares are nice. Since there's no hot engine or fuel, I found this sticky back 1/16th in cork.....it really deadens noise even further .....especially if you already have a smooth ship.

I used foam tape on the feet of my mounts (MD500E) which was a good move but not 100% bullet proof. On my 206, I used rubber washers too.

I just put on order another Align GP780 gyro (I'm just so impressed with it), and I ordered two 3000/30c flight batteries for the MD500E. Hopefully by next Tuesday, everything will be good to go.

Cobra minititan

RESURRECTED THE COBRA

with the EXCEPTION that I picked a discharged battery to make the Corder run ONLY GOT LESS THAN 1 MINUTE video

the flight actually must have lasted more than 5 minutes and it got progressively much better

so look at this and WEEP :

I will do a better job BUT the heli is in good health......SORRY ABOUT THE GOOD WEATHER SHOW
for all the brothers up beaten by SANDY

RICK
MINITITANCOBRA (1 min 1 sec)

What I found out just now is the the COBRA had about 10% of the necessary charge so I guess that contributed to being ERRATIC
as all heck.
This BATTERY business is a HARD TASKMASTER......if you don`t stay current they drop like flies.
