Which T-Rex manual am I searching for? T-Rex450se?
I just finished up the Edge so I am prepping to swap out parts |

Tim,
If you got the belt addition of the EXI, the Trex 450se will do you fine. Remember, that manual is only used as a guide. There may or may not be any variances. An example would be when making the linkage rods, the length they post in mm, is a good starting point, but you may have to make them a little longer or a little shorter. And that you won't know for sure until it's totally built, servos installed, etc. |

I just want some semblance of order while I do this.
I am about to install the speed 400 motor, but I ha a 430l sitting here as well. Any thoughts? |

Tim,
I choose the one that's closest to around 3700KV. I'm don't have a clue about the 400 motor you're taking about. But the 430l, has various versions with different KV ratings. Don't forget you have to consider what pinion gear you're going to use, tooth count wise too. |

Setting up for winter
I was at the LHS and brought home the MiniTitan Cobra.
While there I checked out the latest Real FLight 6....it has so many items that I can use....(MiniTitan, COBRA, good helis for INVERTED FLIGHT practice that I just had to give myself a Xmas present.... Check out the set up in the picture....I even can FLY THE 4 BLADES AH-1W that Vic had ...! and believe me : ' it does NOT fly easily ' !!!! hard to believe. Now with this SIM I think I can practice MORE heli inverted until I get it right. SINS OF MY OLD AGE .... ( don't drink, don't smoke, no broads, etc etc ) RICK |

Rick,
Cool beans on the Real Flight 6, you'll have a ball with that for sure. Sins of old age: I'll buy into the "No Smoking" part. Lol! |

Barry- Glad you are feeling better. Enjoy the time out with your bride.
Vic- Bike paint looks outstanding. I've come to expect nothing but perfection from you though. Looks awesome so far. Dave- Go eat some cheese balls, will ya! LOL Hope you and Liz are doing well. Tim- Nice new heli. I see some late nights in your future getting it together. Rick- What an awesome gift for yourself. Don't go burning the midnight oil now! You guys know how busy I've been. These days we are usually at the hockey rink five days a week. My oldest, Nick, is playing travel hockey this season. His team is doing awful but he is playing the best he's ever played. Leads the team in goals and assists. His "away" games are anywhere from 2-3 hrs drive away So weekends are on the road a LOT! Now it's my little one, Ben, that is showing some serious talent at age 6. In just 6 games he has scored 87 goals already! Yes, that is NOT a typo! His highlight video might run really long for this season! Granted some of the goals are not with a goalie in net yet his stick handling and shot are just impressive for his age. Today he netted 22 goals and I just wanted to share one with you guys. It's a nice example of his skills. Notice it's a backahnd goal which is why I choose this one. I'm almost embarrassed to "toot" his horn as we are a very modest family yet I know you guys will appreciate seeing it. Jim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfcvGOiYKj0 |

I know NOTHING about any sport in the world.
Still, watching this little boy skating around gives me a strong feeling that I see a fully developed player. I see assurance, poise and style. From the heart, because from ignorance I can't rate anything else. good job JIM W ! RICK |

Dave...Tim's EXI is the standard belt driven V2, in which the V2 refers mostly to the changes in the rotor head and specifically, the bearings, bushings and feathering shaft.
Rick.....cool beans on the early Christmas present. My crystal ball is telling me you're going to have a really good day soon Painted the oil tank tonight, turned out really nice. The depth looks like you can put a stick in it to touch the paint. Tomorrow, I start on the rear fender. I've already identified all the wires for the rear lighting system in preperation to cut the plug off and re-wire the rear fender. I've also determined I will CUT/BOB the rear fender before painting (hence calling it a bobber). I'm going to use a 1928 Ford tail light in place of the stock tail light, and the rear turn signals will be retro beehive type. I may even fabricate a WLA style luggage rack for it that can also be utilized as a passenger seat by adding a cushion. Yep....I'm having too much fun. |

Hey Guys,
Everything is done on the V-BAR, via the laptop. They are also making a new blue-tooth for your iPhone and Andriod so you can program the V-BAR at the field and not have to bring a laptop, that will be cool. All you do is zero out everything in the radio, no mixing, no swash mix, no center your servos with sub trim, never adjust outside radio trims as that all "has" to be done in laptop. The only things to can adjust is your gyro, pitch and throttle curves in the radio. The heli is done............. but tomorrow I want to run over it all again the V-BAR again just to make sure all is well. My maiden is scheduled for next Tuesday and yes! there will be video My GEN-ACES have been problematic! I have been cycling them before I use them and this is what surfaced. One has a bad cell and won't charge over 3.9. All of the others finish at 4.20, 4.20, 4.19, 4.19, 4.21, 4.20 per pack as an example which I am not happy with at all! ! To make things worse, they have a discharge resistance of 5-6 ohms and when charging they come in at 10-12 ohms resistance. My year and half old Turnigys have less than that, not happy at all. I am debating about going to Hobby Partz in person on Monday and having a face to face, or better said a "field trip" LMAO. Jim, you should be right proud of your son of your. With his talent and your guidance he is going places, no doubt about it. Rick, enjoy your new SIM. That should keep your fingers nimble and warm this winter. Chopper, what can I say........ here are two more picture of the 700. Vic, don't let up on the HD pain job, she is gonna be sweet when your done. |
