You can call him "Sir" because he's an elderly gentleman(respectfully of course)....he was an enlisted man, but he's definately EARNED it.

BTW I have a computer to tear apart and turn into a power supply. Is it really that hard? Could you post a link again to how that's done?

Let that pole cat walk

Blessings,

Jay

Jay-the original article for the mod was on rchelimag.com I don't know if it's still there or not. I have a hard copy printed out. I can fax, mail, or scan and e-mail it to you if you need it. It's easy to do just need a little soldering skils.
Let me know if you need it.

Cool! I figure I'm pretty good with soldering and all. I just bought a new gun a few months back. I got the power unit out and cleaned up. Here's a shot of the unit and wires separated. I see it say 12v/6 amps. 6amps doesn't seem like a lot. Right now my biggest battery charges 1c @ 4 amps.

Blessings,

Jay

Jay,

I saw in the first picture you've got 200 watts at 6.0 amp. That's not a ton of juice, but enough to charge a 6S battery. Or run 2 smaller chargers.
I notice too, that it was made in Thailand, YIKES! I spent 1 year there when I was in the Air Force.

Here's a couple videos for ya to hack that power supply. 2 parts: (Others too on the youtube page)
You really don't need the LED, but nice to have to let you know you have the power supply turned on. The yellow wire is 12 volts and the black is ground. The red is 5 volts... But double check it with a voltmeter. I'm not 100 percent sure all power supplies are created equally, color wise.
