Ah.. Kavalier! Rick nailed that one! Such wonder flying planes. I have a friend that still flies a Kougar. This is bringing major memories of times spent at the field for me as well.
Blessings! Jay |

Rick,
Thanks for the compliment on my Sig build. It was a lot of enjoyment and a great learning experience. I'm using the bullet blades on my mCP X right now. With the added weight it makes it very, very stable. Dave |

Watch at the end of the video...you'll see the tail wagging back and forth. Really strange...never experienced that before EXCEPT with a bad servo but it wags from beginning to end of flight with a bad servo or bad setup. Dunno....but I'll find out. Flew the F-16 tonight too...ZERO wind, very enjoyable flight |

Super
One great flight.
I watched every second of it. Your area looks so much greater than in the winter with the snow. That heli looks locked in, great flight noticed the tail wagging, at the end but none during the flight at all very solid. even the camera work was ok. was it a "hat" mounted one? hope that you and the family all are doing great. RICK.........................ps: the Innovators wag tails at the LVC as an announcement...Maybe this one is doing the same ? |

a search
OK
then let me go find the manual for the G500t and if it does signal LVC with a wag I will let you know immediately. the BIG part of the project will be to locate the manual... or maybe we can go to jr, LOOK UP THE MODEL and they may supply the Manual Electronically as most other manuals are given. __________________________________________________ ___________________________________________ SEARC SEARCH SEARCH..................... Jim Wnuk, I think it would be awesome to have an RC lawnmower. I might actually cut my lawn instead of paying somebody to do it. LOL
Jim Stamp, thanks. That was my first attempt at a hat cam. You can see when I am hovering inverted near the grass, I actually tilt my head down further after I thought I might be missing the shot. Dave, I can imagine what would happen with a flag pole and 450!!! I love the Kadet... the lego guy flying is a great touch. Jay, thanks so much. The mCP X is a confidence builder. It is nearly indestructible if you are flying over grass and you are quick on the throttle hold. I have no fear of it so I just push myself. Rick, I did as Dave suggested and did the grommet mod on mine and put the non bullet blades back on and it is shake free. I can't really tell too much difference between the two blades other than the bullets feel a bit more smooth but slow the heli down a bit in flips. I bought an adapter to charge the batteries on my good charger. I have been doing 3 min flights at which time the head speed is much lower than the beginning of the flight. When I charge the batteries back up, they only take 100mAh. I just don't think they can handle the amp draw the heli requires. I have some Turnigy nano-tech batteries on order. I hope they are a bit better. Sorry about your neighborhood issues. It is very unfortunate that people just have no respect for others anymore. |

I watched the Ford video, very depressing that they cannot build that here because of the UAW. Ford has a contract for wheel bearings for the Fusion and Focus that are CRAP, they go bad at less than 20,000 miles. In addition, I now have an unexplained BULGE in the sidewall of the front right side tire. Never hit a pot hole OR curb....the tires are also CRAP? The car is still under warantee, we're gonna check on getting the defective tire replaced. Dont make me go out and buy Japanese "Toyo" tires which are incidently BETTER on snow and ice than any american brand tire....and they last longer too. |

Personal favor request
MAYBE ADDRESSED TO DAVE
but whomever knows how it's done, please Xplain : on the suggestion DAVE presented to use micro grommets on the balls of the swash in the mCP X PLEASE EXPLAIN IN ACCURATE DETAIL JUST HOW THIS IS DONE It seems to be that if I push a grommet onto the ball, the G. will go past the ball and hang from the arm itself,...... if this happens just where and how does the grommet prevent the gaps ?????? |

I can not fly my mCP X enough!!!! I am in love with this damn thing. Flying over grass and being fast on the throttle hold has me feeling invincible!! I have crashed it probably half a dozen times with ZERO damage. Not even a lost link. I usually have to orient the main gear on the shaft and push it up into place but that is it. It is right back to flying. I have four batteries and that is just not enough. I have five more batteries coming from HK.
The ability to crash with really no risk of damage has me working out the kinks in my flying. Circles... I would never fly circles before. Not sure why but I just had a mental block that would not allow it. With the mCP X, I am ripping CCW circles now like I have done it forever. CW into nose in was my bane... I just could not do it. I would freeze up solid and dumb thumb in. I have been practicing that and building that confidence and muscle memory. I have gotten to the point of being able to do slow CW piros with good control. In the same way that CW piros locked me up, so did CW circles. With the mCP X, I am now ripping circles around my neighbors tree. Yesterday I was just getting the angle and rudder good and riding it out all the way around. Today I am correcting full circle and have a decent amount of control throughout. Inverted yaw correction.... getting much more comfortable. Tried my first nose in roll to inverted.... and then again and again. I am charging my batteries and it's back outside for some more practice and fun!! I would highly suggest the grommet mod. I did a half grommet on the elevator servo and a full grommet on both the aileron and pitch. Without the grommets, using the stock non bullet blades, The heli would get the shakes and fly like poop. With the grommets, I have no more shaking. I would also like to point out that the bottom of the main shaft is D shaped. It has a flat on it. There is a little cut in the main gear that lines up with the flat. If it is not lined up, it will vibrate and make your heli fly like poop. I almost need a magnifying glass to see where it should be lined up. Be sure to check that after every crash. Thanks Chuck. Make sure the main gear is pushed up all the way every time you crash. Up and down slop in the main shaft will limit your collective range and make your heli fly like poop. I am flying 3 min per battery. After 3 min, the tail does not hold so well anymore and the heli flies like poop. I would highly suggest 3 min flights which equates to about 100mAh used. Quicker charge times too. |

I fly 500's for 6 min tops in idle-up with a flat line of 90% across the board. When I land my battery is at 3.7 per cell ... sometime a few cells might might be 3.6 which is tad below where I like to fly them. I fly 45C 3,000 mAh HK packs. That you flew for in excess of 7 min does not suprise that "in my opnion" you hit your LVC. I don't know what ESC your flying but you can set it from high LVC to a middle LVC to stretch your packs, but man 7 min plus OUCH sounds like your pushing it and it sounded like you had some good head speed to boot. What did your cells read after you landed? How many mAh did that pack take come up to 100% charge? more than 80%? Let me know, but awsome yard hovering there laddie John |

WNUK, here's another one of Leslie, this is with her new Smith & Wesson 50 caliber. YIKES! Check out the size of the ammo.
Hi Fellas, Just a few pictures of todays outing at Leslies house. Sorry, no helicopters today, the car was full of things we were giving Leslie and her family. I was able to get the Rustler on the back floorboard. Lol! First picture is a quick shot of her house and pole barn. Next is Leslie with the 50 caliber, standing in front of her Harley. Then a close up of her, then her, with one of the bullets. Wow! Those suckers are $3.75 a piece. Then a couple pictures of the Rustler, Leslie is the driver. First time out and she took to it in a heartbeat. Poppin' wheelies on her second battery pack.(She smoke one of my battery packs too, Lol!) Last but not least, Leslie gave me my Fathers Day present. What a gal! A Benchmade Bali-Song Crown Modified Spear-Point Butterfly Knife #51. She must have been listening to me a few months ago, because I told her I always wanted a butterfly knife. (I collect knives too) |

Vic, I am with JPee. I think the flight might have been a bit too long. I don't necessarily think that you LVC but your head speed was quite low by the end of the flight. Listen to the sound of the rotors at the beginning of the flight and then click about half way into the flight and then again at the end. There is a significant difference in head speed. With a drop in head speed comes a drop in tail speed which means less tail authority. Your tail just wont work as well. The way it was jerking though leads me to believe that maybe the tail control assembly might not be as free moving as it should be.
Let us know what you find. |
