Saito FA-45 special

Hi, I've got an opportunity to buy one of these engines second hand, that has never been used.

I have a couple of questions for anyone who has ever owned or know a bit about them.

* I can't seem to find this size of engine for sale anymore? were they a lemon? or just not popular?

* Also I believe this model has the crank case breather nipple in the back plate, does this lead to premature bearing wear? How hard would it be to move the nipple to the newer location?

Please share your good/bad experiences with this engine...

The engine has never been mounted or even had fuel up to it.

can anyone guess the approximate age of this engine from the packaging? it looks pretty retro...

Mitch: i haven't owned one. but at our field, i've never seen a bad Saito engine. it was probably just superceded by a bored out version. ..........gregg
