Every now and again the DSM Rx's come up for sale here and on eBay but they're still going for about $30 or so for the ones that I've seen. I figured that they'd get cheaper but apparantely there's still some value.

I've got a Dx5 and a Dx4 and would like some but haven't been able to locate a cheap source.

Thank you all for replies. I meant 2500 on the battery- the 3300 would be too heavy.
I have never had an issue with my DX6 as far as range- my Stryker would get out of sight in a hurry and never had an issue- but I realize that the cub is much larger and will have a much larger range. I was just hoping to get the plane in the air with the DX6 and then upgrade to a DX7 (or perhaps a Futaba 7C- I'm considering that). Is there a concensus on prop size and pitch yet?

@ Phantom

I use 2800's and 3000 Mah lipos with absolutly no problem...after you fly yours for a few times..throw your 3300 in it...make sure CG is ok....and you will never notice a difference..Guarenteed

Prop depends On what motor you are useing...the HiMax 3516-0840 recomended by multiplex for this plane...works VERY nice with the suggested 13x4 APC prop....only draw back is..if you do not land VERY nice..you WILL chip the end of the prop.

My Motor( bigfoot .10) is crazy fun & Powerful...with a 11.5x 6.5 prop

post your motor here...and perhaps someone useing the same 1 can help you better.

Well I was thinking of just using the 3516-840 but maybe going to a 11x6 or 12x6 to pick up a little clearance. I know the craziness that will probably happen with this airplane- so I figure a little prop clearance can't hurt- so I was thinking of increasing the pitch to make up for it.

Am Sure it will be just fine...perhaps dbl. check the amp. draw with a watt meter...just so you have piece of mind with the esc.

My second Fun Cub waiting to go out for a maiden flight tomorrow, weather permitting.

Motor is an MVVS 3.5/1200, Jeti Spin 44 ESC, 11 X 5.5 prop.

Felt like a military style this time around.

You are unlikely to either any time soon. While technically obsolete ,the DSM Rx's are still compatible with DSM2 Tx's and are still the best Rx in terms of value for simple 4 channel applications . I managed to pick up 7 of em at a going out of business sale at a LHS a couple years ago for $10 a piece .Its not often I have need of a new RX ,but when I do this one is my first choice .And no ,I'm not interested in selling any of the remaining ones, sorry.
