Thanks, dick. I'll give them a try. I ordered an 11-7 vess last night too. I still don't know what prop size or pitch to run but do far out of the Es the 12-6 has been best but for a motor that big Im not sure if a 12 is enough. But I liked the power and the flight time and my esc never got hot but I'm over speeding it do I've got to try a 12-6 wood and see if I get the same results.

Hi and thanks for the advice. I do like Giant Cod but had almost decided on this Motor
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...dproduct=18225
And being fairly new to electric not sure if GC had an equivalent. I don't want high power as I'm hoping to build light and run on 2cell LiPos. I have plenty of time so would rather get it right than rush it.
Mike

That looks like a good motor, may buy one for spares.

Hi Fabio

The 3026-890Kv motor has a broader range of acceptable props and speed vs. vertical climb capability over the 3020-1110Kv. My software rated the 3026-710Kv size last of the three. At any rate, motor calc rated the 3026-890Kv as #1.
Any one of the ones would be a beast in the Fun Cub, very fast horizontal and straight up as well.

then do you think that the 3026-890 Kv as the first? with how esc, prop and lipo ?
believe that they are oversized?
Another solution could be the hacker A30-14l v2 with a 12x6 apc-e and an 2200 3s lipo what do you think about this setup ?

Maiden flight

Maiden flight today. Temp 70 degrees Wind gusts 5 to 10 mph. Takeoff was very smooth and straight at about 1/3 power, required no trim adjustments. Flaps are set at about 80% and when deployed the FC looped so I think I will reduce the flap deflection and add in some down elev. Mix. The landing on pavement with no flaps was very slow and very easy to control. The flight was short about 5 minutes, want to change setting and go back when the wind is less.

I used Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Spray, Metallic Yellow (Gloss Protective Enamel) which worked out pretty good on the foam. You can find this at your Walmart Store.

49er Fun Cub

I thought my FC was a little plain and common so I fixed her up a little with a little SF NFL treatment.

Also, does anyone have a spare stock main gear mount they'd sell me? Mine broke and I dont really wan to spend $30 for a new gear set just to get the one piece

I would suggest
Scorpion 3026-890Kv motor
Turnigy dlux 55A esc with SBEC
APC 13x6, 12x6, or 11x5.5 Eprop
2200 Mah 35C or 2650 Mah 25C

One thing to consider on the Scorpio motor is that it is heavy, about 205g. Others on this forum use motors in the 100-150g range. CG will need some help. Also Amp draw is high (40 amps) compared to the HiMax 3516-1130 (I use) at 28 amps, so flight time will suffer.

This is a good setup, but a 13x7 prop will improve performance with unlimited vertical, the 12x6 will not go vertical.

use a 40 amp esc with an SBEC

Hey Blu

Beautiful paint job but 49er scheme? What about a Broncos scheme with Payton Manning in the cockpit?

HaHaHaHa just kidding.

Really man that is one of the best I've seen on the forum, hats off to you!
