Gents: if the folk wisdom "Wet in Western Washington=Windy at Eagle" is true, judging from the sheeting rain currently pummeling the west side of Whidbey, consider taking ALL your ballast... and an extra brick or two?

I flew today at Ecola St Park in Oregon right as the front was coming in. It started at 10mph at about 10:00am and was blowing about 30 by 1:30pm

I saw someone on the local news tonight trying to launch a E-Ventus at Fort Ebey on Whidbey. Appeared to be a 3 Meter or so. He ended up not launching. Looked to be blowing 40+. He needed a lead sled! No motor, just LEAD!

Eagle Butte looks epic!

Heading out in the morning!

So you got it?!...I almost grabbed it off Clay since I missed mine so much. For the amount of money spent, the A2 is a whole lot of glider and a whole lotta fun. It'll get crankin' too. I promise you'll like it!

The rest of you... have fun at Eagle this weekend!

Typical killer day at Eagle. Morning started at 20 mph and peaked at 50. We flew floaters through lead sleds. Even had a few fly byes from a full scale glider!

Mr. Acacia II SMOKES!

Ever fly a ballasted Shrike in 30mph with a huge vertical component?

That was me. I wanted to head out to Eagle this weekend, but had too many family obligations so couldn't make it. So I played skipped out of work on Friday and headed out to Whidbey. It was calm until 2:00, when it started blowing like someone had thrown a switch. Unfortunately by the time I was ready to go it was gusting to 65 and too much for that ship (my small - 3.5m - Ventus), especially when doing the launching myself. I wasn't about to ask the weatherman to help!
