May 2011 Eagle fest

Looking for interested fliers for some informal F3F racing and general good times this May! Who would be interested in getting some laps in at Eagle? Dave Reese has mentioned he might be able to bring some equipment so we can fly some F3F and man on man. This will take some planning so why not start now? Timing equipment? sighting poles? Need for SPEED???

Who is interested?

Would be nice to get this in line with the Higgins Fest that is happening in Northern California. Perhaps we could encourage a pilgrimage to Eagle?

Hey great idea Keith. Count me in. I think TomFlyer might have access to F3F equipment through PASS. I'll run it by him. I'm willing to help anyway possible.

Happy Holidays,

Vic

Every big air day at Eagle is a Higgins Fest for us.

MOM sounds like a great idea.

If you can pry the guys off the DS hill that is. Addiction is running rampant!

Santa, I would like a new Pike Giant. Please...

No idea of regs or restrictions. It would be nice to keep this low key and informal but having said that it could grow. The main idea of my post here was to open it up for discussion before sticking my foot in my mouth announcing something that might not be welcomed by the mid Columbia soarers. I would just like to see some gates set up so we can test our skills in a better way than just flying formation turns. There is a lot of talent in our area and testing it with some experienced pilots would be fun.

Open for discussion here or other?

I'll have F3F equipment and a laser to measure a F3F or MOM course but no MOM gear. Getting some locals onboard would be a good idea. It's been years since I've made the trek to the tri-cites. Is camping and flying at Chandler still allowed? Trespass card from the MCSS? Pilgrimage sounds perfect!

Hello Dave
wishful thinking, there aren't many locals (in the Club) possible they would attend a race (but based on 14 years of observations: Foam only).

Chandler flying yes, camping direct at Chandler can be an issue, but the Kiona Ridge is big and you should try SDR for sure.

Cheers

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for the update. Someone told me SDR is very close to the location where Sage consumed a Zagi

Maybe the best bet is for someone to contact the MCSS directly and see if they're cool with a fun fly and maybe some racing in May? The website states they still require MCSS membership ($20) and AMA membership to fly there. Easy enough. I'd be happy to contact them unless someone else already has a relationship/membership with the club. As Keith mentioned it would be good to sort out the Higgins fest dates ASAP. That said I only have two possible weekends in May that I can make it to Eagle. May 14/15 or 21/22 plus a few days on either side.

Looking forward to flying with you again Thomas!

dave
