Nice flying Turboracer! How long does it take to learn that? Did you bring snowshoes for recovery missions?

I put four batteries through my EasyStar II today and made it nearly 2 miles and back. At 9938 feet I think I'm reaching the limits. I had good signal strength outbound, but I had control signal glitches on the return trip - 11 brownouts shown on the receiver after I landed.

I was using a 5-turn helical antenna on my Fatshark Predators and a 7dbi patch on my Dx6i and trying to aim the antennas based on the strength of the video signal when I turned my head. I think I could probably have flown further if I could aim more accurately. The previous flight I went up the valley where it was easy to aim, made it 8930 feet and back with no brownouts. I was also substantially higher the previous flight... maybe if I flew higher I could go farther?

I've been testing the limits within ski distance of the road.

Yeah I suppose I can. I need a new fuse though. Maybe just a new ARF and have back ups, but I think I may want to go to a bigger stick. You know what they say.

I dunno.. This is about the sixth or seventh time flying this quad, just got it.. I bought a Ladybird V2 a few months back and practiced a bit. That got me hooked on teh quad feel.. I've flown helis for a while and most of that transitioned over, controls are basically the same just flies a little different.. If you know helis you will pick up quads.. If not, grab a Ladybird V2 RTF on ebay for like $60 shipped and you'll get hooked

Sorry to hear about the MUS cwolfe. You gotta get another! It's too much fun flyin' 'em together. I'll never be without one

Howdy all. New here and after checking the weather I just had to say something. Its goingto be mid 60's and sunny with winds out of the SW at 6 kts. Finally going to get to maiden my SeaBB42 i built this winter. Also got some FPV gear so if this plane works out I will soon get to try FPV for my first time. I've used the gear on my Rock Crawler out in the woods and that was alot of fun but no range on the ground and in the woods.

Just around 0 deg Celsius (32F), 3-4 m/s (6.5-9 mph) wind, foggy with a light drizzle - so I only put 3 batteries trough my "sttiP" doing relaxed acro and practicing slipping and cross-wind landings on the green artificial grass on the soccer field across the street, just to get the required fix...

Guess I'll spend rest of the weekend building the Ligeti Statos kit I just got from RC Foam, the forecast says more wind and more rain/snow tomorrow...

Do it to it!
Punch holes in all the clouds and scatter the bird flocks to the 4 horizons!

My day is tomorrow... IF the weatherman isn't nutso.

I was able to get one flight in today before coming to work. Then the winds picked up. My EfliteT-34 was just sitting there when a gust blew up. Blowing of its canopy and damaging it. It was just sitting there! Jeez!
