Walter White my ass!

I'm converting my 74" Edge to gas. OS GT33, its Baaaad A.

the standoffs came with NordNock washers. I orders some more from McMaster so I could try them out on the muffler.

I need a laser cutter. The throttler servo really wants to be recessed into one side of the fuse from the central motor box 'core'. I cut down the servo box thats included with the kit on my bandsaw. Then I cut 1/8" plate to the right size. Finally I had to cut a rectangular hole in plywood plate... with an exato knife... by hand... I can has 100 watt laser now?

Here is the final assembly with some tri-stock to strengthen things.

Then the plate gets installed with poly glue into the side of the cockpit. I hardly use epoxy anymore. If I need a glue with long open time I use poly.

Singles always mean breaking out the Dremel to cut the cowl to bits. (good sanding drums cam be found here)

It's not as bad as some I've seen but its still a gaping hole.

Choke Linkage. I needed a really short connector that threaded into the nyrod. The clearance with the firewall is so close that the nyrod almost disappears into the firewall. Made one by filing down one side of those brass connectors you get for making pull-pull linkages on small airplanes.

Not done yet, more to come.

I hooked up the YGE in the Edge. It worked with the Hacker out of the box, only programming I did was to set the break. The motor sounds like it's fueled by plutonium. I'm actually scared to go WOT in my shop. This combo is gonna be fun.

Current soundtrack in the shop:
ALBOROSIE KINGSTON TOWN LYRICS (3 min 15 sec)

Curently drinking in the shop: Red Chair.

The wife has given a go for the big F-22, as long as I find a place to build it (my current workshop is too small), and as long as I get a new gas stove top for the kitchen. DEAL since we were going to do that anyway First, I'm working on a diy hot wire foam cutter. There are no downloadable plans for a 6-1/2 foot F-22 that I could find, so I'll have kinko's scale up one of the smaller ones. Might have this thing done by the end of the month.

Awesome Dan You need to make one of these too. I have wanted one of the Charger RC Giant Fuzions for awhile but the price keeps stopping me.

The 36" 3D Fuzion was my first foamie and it flies well. Could make a scaled up version of it, or use one of the many Yak plans on the Foamies Scratchbuilt thread. I'd be tempted to do a 78" version of the StormBach.

Or maybe even perhaps an Extra 330

Nice custom fabrication & attention to detail on the Edge.

Your mask is just a little spooky, I appreciate your Halloween enthusiasm even though it is still many months away. lol

Also, materials for the big F-22 have been acquired. The 820kv motor and 60 amp ESC I've had onhand since xmas will work great for this (5 lbs thrust).
