Got the Slickness

Can you guys give me your advise on a inexpensive Radio (Tx) for a buddy box system to run multiple planes for my son this season?

I am looking for a Spektrum system since I have 3 Rx's and eventually I would like to see my son flying independently at some point.

Can I use a Spektrum DX6i as the master Tx and a DX5e for multiple planes without having to make trim adjustments, expo changes or dual rate issues on the slave?

or...

Do I need to use another Spektrum combo to acheive this, like a DX7 master and a DX6i as the slave?

Thanks for your help on this....

I have been thrilled with the older turnigy 9x for the price with the public firmware. As a result I would be real tempted to get

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...o_Module_.html

2 of those for the price of one other name brand. I dedicated my 9x to long range UHF but otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to use it for everything if i didnt already have something.

A 5 will work but trims and expo won't carry over. You can find dx6i's all day long for $75-100 shipped. A little more up front but better in the long run. A few guys at the NCC used 6i's on their first 50cc birds with no problems for years even!

So Tim I am thinking maybe get a good used DX7 as the master and a DX6i as the slave?

My idea with the DX6i as the master was to have my son finally use that radio when he gets good enough to be independent. So my thought was to use a slave on a Sig Sinoretta Electric Trainer we have and a bi-plane. The problem may be no dual rates and no expo carrying over into the 5e is what I am hearing.

Tim does the 50cc have pocket hinges also? If so this is an awsome deal under 500$ with all carbon . If this was not my 25th anniv and my son getting married this year I would snap one up! Tell Tom great job on value.
