In other news, I'm planning on picking up a brand new 9503 tomorrow. Sent off mine to Horizon with the questionable receivers but bartered a smokin deal from the guy that won 2 at huckfest. I still believe in my equipment but after thinking about it, I put in A LOT of time and stick work on that transmitter in the 14 months I've owned it. Realistically what's the expected life span of a TX anway? Just between "Big Red" and my Big Yak the internal timer showed about 50 hours. Besides those 2 I have 20 other models that I try and fly pretty regularly? It's already at FedEx but I bet there's another 50 hours + on the crack yak and my 50cc yak 55 I flew for the past year.

That's right SupaTim, it would take the typical flyer 10 years to put in the hours you put in over just the past year. Looking at it that way your hardware was long overdue for an upgrade. So the only way you can justify getting out is If you can give me a Vulcan mind meld that will transfer all you've learned into my brain so all that ability won't be lost to the sport. If you can't do that then don't even think about it.

I wouldn't get another 9503. I would be looking at that Spektrum DX-18.

Whoever said lightning doesn't strike twice hasn't spent enough time with me. Got my 2nd full blown lockout in 48 hours today at Flaming Geyser. Looked IDENTICAL to my 100cc lawn dart on Saturday in that all surfaces went to failsafe (neutral and engine off.) This time with no sign of coming back. What really gets me is that I had 3 full 10 minute flights without even a hint of an issue on that plane yesterday.

Needless to say I'm pulling every receiver I've got as well as my radio and sending it all to Horizon Hobby for a full blown autopsy/inspection. Hate to say it but now that I have to replace a transmitter, 100cc and 30cc bird, I may be taking an indefinite break from RC for a while. Or trading it all in on 30-40 crackyaks since those bounce at least...
The NCC flag is flying at half mast bro.

You can take the 3D plane from SupaTim, but you can never take the 3D out of SupaTim.

You go SupaTim! I even believe you could fly a rubber-band powered plane 3D.
